3 CORE FUNCTIONS Gantt chart is made for comfortable visual representation of section and record details data. With this tool bpm online users could analyze their project workload, plan and allocate resources. This add-on gives clear and actual manager s workload, allows you to analyze duration of each sale and other parameters, which are graphically represented on time scale. Gantt chart representation is useful during making up and correcting delivery and payment schedule inside the Order record. In general, this product assists in convenient planning and recourse allocation. Gantt chart for bpm online contains the following features: Representation of each section in form of Gantt chart using all fields` information; Chart scaling; Ability to turn to connected record from chart using links and mini cards; Moving task deadlines inside the chart; Hierarchic representation if connected records; Open of record page for editing directly from the chart; Chart representation per established filtration. 3

4 INSTALLATION Note. Install via user interface is supported in bpm'online 7.10 and higher. Before installation, you must download the archives of the current packages at ftp://ftp.samarasoft.ru/_products/gantt/7.9/ Samarasoft.Gantt.gz package archive Gantt chart. Figure 1 - Gantt chart packages on ftp Note. When the file of the package is downloaded again, the browser adds the copy number to the end of the file name. For example, Samarasoft.Gantt(2).gz. Before installing the package, it is recommended to delete the added symbols and bring the name to the Samarasoft.Asana.gz. Open the system designer, click the [Installed applications] link. 4

9 SETTING UP DISPLAY OF THE GANTT CHART You can tune the display for each of the sections. SET UP THE LINEAR REPRESENTATION This setting is done in the [Gantt chart settings] manual. To set up the display of a Gantt chart, follow these steps: 1. Open the system designer by clicking the button in the top right corner of the application. 2. In the [System setup] block, click the [Lookups] link. Figure 9 Lookup [Gantt chart settings] 3. Add a new record to the directory by clicking on the [Add setting] button and filling in the following fields: [Section] The name of the section for which the Gantt chart is setting [Name column] name of the column whose value will be displayed in the list of additional data for the Gantt chart element. It is possible to select both the text and look up fields of the record page of this section [Diagram column] name of the column whose value will be displayed on the Gantt chart element. Figure 11 Result of setting up a Gantt chart SET UP THE HIERARCHICAL REPRESENTATION The hierarchical representation of the Gantt chart is available for section that have subordinate records related to the same section. To set up the hierarchical representation, follow these steps: 1. Set up the Gantt chart (see Set up the linear representation), adding the setting to the field value: 10

12 GANTT CHART SCALING The following control elements are located on the Gantt chart, for convenient scaling: Figure 13 Elements for viewing and scaling the Gantt chart - elements to scroll up / down the list of records in the Gantt chart - element to return to the current date when viewing chart records - elements for scrolling through the records of the section by time: to the first record for the period, backward, forward and to the last record for the period - scrolling element of records by time - elements of scaling records by period 12

13 MOVING TASK DEADLINES INSIDE THE CHART In the Gantt chart you can change the timing of the records displayed on the grid. This action can be performed in one of the ways: moving the selected bar chart to the required time period drag-and-drop; moving the borders of the band of the Gantt chart on a grid. In this case, the changes in terms are saved in the section record. 13

14 FILTRATION You can set up all kinds of filters available in the section for Gantt chart view. Figure 14 The result of applying filters in the Gantt chart view 14

15 TRANSITION FROM CHART TO RECORD You can open the record s mini-card and go to the linked record page directly from the Gantt chart view. To open the record`s mini-card, click on the corresponding Gantt chart element. From the minicard, you can also navigate to related record in other sections, for example, to the [Accounts] section record of the opportunity mini-card. To open the edit record page from Gantt chart, do the following: open the mini card and click on the title of the record or click on the link in the left column of the chart. 15
