Database: Built-in connectivity middleware, OSS Data Access Layer, which allows client to deploy any Relationship Database Management System (Oracle 11g, MS SQL 2005, IBM DB2 or My SQL); C. Application Architecture: N-tier; D. Hardware Architecture: 3 Tier comprising 2 Web Servers, 2 Application Servers and 2 Database Servers and scalable to 32 web servers, 12 application servers and 2 database servers for 30,000 concurrent log-ins with elapse time performance of 3-second.

APPLICATION SOFTWARE S ARCHITECTURE PLATFORM 2.1 APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE The Application Software s architecture is based on N-tier, where in its most basic format it comprises three (3) separate layers as below: A. 9 2.3 HARDWARE DEPLOYMENT BASED ON HA (High Availability) The basic hardware deployment is adherent to High Availability (HA) design which consists of minimum 2 web servers, 2 application servers and 2 database servers as depicted below diagram. The HA design, as depicted below, is capable to support approximate 1,500 concurrent users at any given time. HARDWARE TOPOLOGY: BASIC HIGH AVAILABILITY AT SINGLE-NODE LOCATION Primary Data Centre: Single Logical DNS ` Optional: Hardware Based Load Balancer Web Servers with built-in Network Load Balancer Application Servers Redundant Gigabit Switch (1) Switch for redundancy-1 Database Server (Active Node) Primary Data Storage: SAN/ NAS 1 2 Redundant Gigabit Switch (2) Database Server (Passive Node) Switch for redundancy-2 Internet Service Provider (2 Mbp x 2) Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC): OPTIONAL Load Balancer Web-cum- Application Servers 1 Switch Database Server 2 Remote- Backup SAN/ NAS Server In the event clients intend to scale up the hardware to accommodating more concurrent users (exceeding 1,500 concurrent users), the design can be scaled up as depicted at 2.4 below.

10 2.4 HAREDWARE DEPLOMENT FOR VOLUMINOUS CONCURRENT LOG-INS The High Availability (HA) of 2.3 can be further scaled up to 32 Web servers, 12 Application Servers and 2 Database Servers as depicted below. This scaled-up design is capable to support up to 30,000 concurrent users at any given time.

CORPORATE GOVERNMENT (or Central Account Management) This embedded Corporate Governance, coded name OSS Application Infrastructure Building Block (ASP.NET), is an SOA based foundation that provides central management based system administrative services to the core application, Project Portfolio Management (ASP.NET) solution which sits top of top of the said Corporate Governance framework. The services provided under Corporate Governance are, inter alias, 3.1 Identity Management 3.2 Authentication Management 3.3 LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) / Active Directory 3.4 Access Management 3.5 Audit Trail & Track 3.6 RSA Encryption 3.7 SMS/ Services Some of the screen shots for Corporate Governance are as below: A. System Security The [General Parameter Setting] tag that allows System Administrator to remotely configure various log-in parameters for each user.

System Audit Trail Module It allows System Administrator to keep tracks each user s log-in activities (access, view, data entry, edit, print and others) where the system tabulates the user activities in Date, Time, Action, Field he/she accessed and others. C. System Security LDAP (Lightweight Directory Application Protocol). OSS Utilities Solution has a built-in LDAP which client can deploy to comply with its corporate centrally managed security policies. Alternatively, client can de-activate this feature if LDAP is not required.

14 D. System File-Access Right Allocation Assigning specific access right on each file to each user, in accordance to the user s role and responsibility. E. System Feature-Access Right Allocation. This class-specific (Object Oriented) feature allow system administrator to allocate Access Right in check-box whose features will be accorded to approved users.
