Double Glazing Double glazing refers to two layers of glass spaced apart by a perimeter aluminum strip and pumped with dry air and a small amount of desiccant to ensure the air stays dry. The unit is then bound together and fully sealed. FormView s Double Glazing units comprise two 5mm layers of glass, spaced 9mm apart. The air between the glass panels dramatically reduces thermal and acoustic transfer. 4 FormView Style All Formview frames are thermally broken aluminum. This gives a clear strength and environmental advantage over UPVC (Unplasticised Poly Vinyl Chloride). Clean bold edges provide a contemporary look well suited to the modern Australian home. Styles All FormView frames are part of an integrated system of the same size, ensuring a consistent look and contemporary style throughout. Profile Thickness and Size All FormView frames are based on a 96mm-width, thermally broken aluminum frame. Triple stacking doors and windows are also available in a heavy duty 163mm-width. 5 Glass FormView offers an array of glass options, so you can custom design your windows and doors to suit your individual needs. Two layers of clear 5mm toughened safety glass is fitted as standard on all FormView windows and doors, providing added strength, security and safety. As a further protective measure, all glass surfaces are supplied with a temporary protective film. Low Emissivity (Low-E) Glass Is used to dramatically reducing solar heat gain and the entry of ultra violet light into a building. With higher insulating qualities (U-Value) than standard glass, it reduces the need for air-conditioning in summer and retains warmth in winter. It does this with a minimal reduction in the amount of natural light entering through the glass, making it ideal for east and east facing windows. The three-track frame has two external flyscreen tracks and is fitted with sliding flyscreens standard, while the four track system has the option of retractable flycreeens.
