BRICK FEATURE LINTELS A unique addition to our brickwork support systems are IG s Brick Feature Lintels, where brick slips are fixed onto an IG steel lintel. This one piece unit arrives on site with the bricks, matched to your requirements, attached to the load bearing lintel. This eliminates the need for a specialist brickwork contractor spending hours onsite, cutting bricks to suit complicated structural openings.

6 6 BRICK FEATURE LINTELS Brick Feature Lintels are a one piece prefabricated unit, manufactured bespoke to order, achieving even the most challenging architectural designs. IG s Brick Feature Lintels are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, enabling the builder to achieve even the most challenging of architectural designs. IG s Brick Feature Lintels can be installed quickly with minimum interruption to the contractor s schedule. With optional brickclad soffit, centre stone feature and insulation, the builder is able to specify each Brick Feature requirement through their local builders merchant and IG s Free Brick Feature Lintel Design Service. IG receive a consignment of the brick being used on site. This brick is then tailored to suit the client s design and fixed to IG s galvanized and powdercoated structural steel elements. The finished Brick Feature Lintel joins seamlessly with the already constructed brickwork. Every Brick Feature Lintel is manufactured bespoke to order, ensuring that each individual unit is customised according to the unique size, shape and aesthetic requirements of the project.

14 14 BRICK FEATURE LINTELS BESPOKE PROJECTS 12m Span Arch Brick Feature Lintel IG designed, manufactured and delivered six Arch BFL to Manchester Metropolitan to fix either side of three railway bridges. Spanning 12 metres in length and 3.5 metres in height, the six Arch BFL were manufactured off-site by the IG team. IG fixed brick to a 2.5mm galvanized steel box section that curved the full circumference of the arch. Once the BFL was delivered to site it was fixed to the bridge and standard brick coursing could continue, therefore eliminating any time-consuming brick cutting on site. 12 METRE SPAN, 3.5M RISE ARCH BFL FOR THREE RAILWAY BRIDGES IN MANCHESTER

Please note that when the Brick Feature Lintel is received on site the brick is already fixed to the lintel. SEGMENTAL ARCH 1 1 / 2 brick deep IG s Segmental Arch BFL comprises of a standard L1 profile lintel with a steel box frame on the outer flange. The lintel is insulated in the cavity and spans from inner to outer leaf. This design can incorporate 1 brick, 1½ brick or a 2 brick soldier course. FLAT ARCH 1 1 / 2 brick deep IG s Flat Arch BFL comprises of a modified box section that allows brick to be fixed to the front face.
