2 Bay Liner FP Fabric System Great Insulation System The Bay Liner Fabric System yields full **designed insulation values without compression or voids common with other methods. Properly sealed roof and wall systems prevent air infiltration and isolate the conductive steel structure from the interior conditioned space. The Bay Liner Fabric System provides both low U-values and low Emissivity values stopping over 90% of all three types of heat transfer: conduction, convection, radiation. Supports Insulation Unsurpassed in strength, the roof and wall systems support insulation. The system installs rapidly with rates as high as 00 square feet per man hour applied in new buildings and 100 square feet per man hour in retrofit projects where some obstruction exist. Several types of insulation can be used with the system including batts, blankets, blow-in. The structurally anchored liner system is strong and provides a much safer work environment when installed ahead of the roof panels during construction. Excellent Fire Safety Rating The components of the standard assembly comply with the Class A fire safety standards with a low flame spread rating of less than 25. Quality control tested for compliance with ASTM E- standard test procedure (Equivalent to NFPA 255, UBC 1-1, ANSI 2.5 and UL 72). Our standard fabrics are UL or ULC listed. Special products are tested only upon order by purchaser. Absorbs Sound Provides inexpensive acoustic finishes where conventional suspended ceilings are not appropriate or not in the budget. Standard system has 75% sound absorption (NRC 0.75). Low noise system has 5% sound absorption (NRC 0.5). Sound attenuation or STC rating is 0 to 5 decibels in an assembly. Preserves Fire Rated Ceilings The Bay Liner Fabric System is commonly used in buildings above suspended ceilings. The Bay Liner Fabric System functions well with suspended ceilings and eliminates the need to place insulation directly on top of the suspended ceiling panels which performs poorly and voids the ceiling fire ratings. The space above the ceiling allows easy access to duct work, electrical wiring, computer wiring or lighting fixtures without disturbing the insulation in the roof structure above. White, colored or reflective liner fabric with white or colored retainer straps mimic a suspended ceiling and may be used as an exposed interior surface. Various optional strap patterns create aesthetically unique appearances. The concealed structure eliminates the need to paint secondary structural components and may eliminate other finishing materials, saving money. Ceiling and wall systems are washable. The liner fabric is inert to most chemicals, resists damage during installation and will not cold crack even at 0 degrees below zero. Some minor wrinkling in the fabric is common and does not effect the performance of the insulation. Brightens Interiors When left exposed, the bright white, light reflective surface enhances the efficiency of lighting, allowing up to 0% fewer fixtures without reducing light levels. Light reflectance averages 0%. Initial electrical equipment savings and lower electricity charges result in significant savings to the building owner. Low UV producing light sources or UV filter lenses are recommended to prevent UV degradation of the polymer liner fabric coatings and prolong the useful life of the liner fabric. (Custom fabric colors are available; please contact your Bay distributor.) Helps Prevent Condensation Reinforced suspension fabric completely isolates the cold secondary structure from humid interior air. Water vapor transmission is 0.02 grains per hour per square foot for standard or super duty fabric. The double sealed factory seams eliminate staple holes and hidden unsealed joints while preserving the integrity of the vapor barrier. Vented or dehumidified systems are available for humid or wet use buildings. Various designs are available. Leading edge/through fall protection Bay Insulation offers OSHA-accepted fall protection on the Simple Saver insulation system for new pre-engineered metal buildings. The system passes the stringent 00 lb. fall test, earning the OSHA letter of acceptance. Once the liner system is installed from lifts, the workman are safe to work from above without the need to be restrained by cumbersome lanyards. Call () or (00) for specifications or more information. FIRST LAYER OF SECOND LAYER OF OR THERMAL BREAK *Retrofit strap pattern is single direction as standard. 3 Bay Liner FP Fabric System New Wall Insulation and Finishing System Thermal efficiency of the building envelope includes the wall area. The Bay Liner Fabric System installs in many wall structures to make the complete building envelope energy efficient at a very low installed cost. Self-sticking foam thermal breaks are recommended between metal wall panels and metal structure in single layer systems to minimize thermal conduction. Wall panel laps and flashings should be caulked to prevent air infiltration into insulation cavity by wind pressures. Typical Metal Panel Wall System Shown Below WALL SYSTEM SEALED TO CEILING SYSTEM Thermal Conduction Stops (TCS) The single layer systems dramatically speeds up the wall sheeting process. Wall insulation is installed (without compression) completely from the inside, after the roof is on, out of the wind and weather. Single layer systems eliminates the bulging and dimpling of metal wall panels common with thick insulation compressed between panels and sub structure. Insulation thickness used should equal the girt depth. A thick single or 9 layer of insulation is preferred to two layers in walls to speed installation. Thick insulation is impaled on the insulation hangers. With Double Layer Systems, the upper layer of fiberglass is installed between roof panels and the structure to reduce thermal conduction. Other R-values available upon request. Ideal for use above Suspended Ceilings All thermal insulation can be placed in the purlin cavities avoiding the need for a split system (placing insulation on top of a suspended ceiling). A clean open attic area allows easy access for mechanical equipment, wiring installations or future maintenance without disturbing insulation. Placing insulation on ceiling panels, often voids warranty and fire rating of the ceiling system and performs poorly. Common Hangers Preserve The Vapor Barrier The Bay Liner FP Fabric System solves the common condensation problem on exposed purlins. With this system the purlins are isolated by the suspension fabric yet is still accessible for the attachment of common items. Standard attachment methods and hangers shown below preserve the highest vapor barrier integrity without need to cut the fabric. Common Hanging Methods Electric Box Simple Hole Strap Channel Angle Threaded Threaded Bar Joist Fastener Strut Hanger Plate Hanger Hanger Hanger Structures in which the Bay Liner FP Fabric System can be installed. These are some of many common hangers that can be used with the Bay Liner Fabric System without cutting the suspension fabric. Virtually anything can be attached to the underside of the purlins with negligible effect on the vapor barrier quality. 6 Great Results with the Bay Liner Fabric System BEFORE AFTER The building has an unfinished appearance and the structure is exposed to the conditioned air. Heat escapes in the winter through the purlins and radiates into the building during the summer. The vapor barrier faced insulation is compressed over the purlins. The tops of the purlins are seasonally below the dew point which leads to condensation, corrosion and shortened roof life. Poorly sealed seams have opened up and the vapor retarder facing has cracked and ripped allowing moisture to reach the conductive metal roof panels. Compressed insulation results in poor thermal and acoustical performance. The exposed structure absorbs light and casts shadows requiring unnecessary lighting. Exposed purlins also collect dust and are favorite spots for bird to nest. Purlins are covered by the high strength ceiling liner system and encapsulated by the insulation. The ceiling has excellent light reflectivity and dispersion. The vapor barrier is properly placed on the interior of the purlins preventing condensation and corrosion which extends the life of the roof. Added insulation greatly increases thermal performance and acoustic absorption. The vapor barrier is of high strength fabric that holds up to the abuse inside this gymnasium. Insulation simply feeds into the purlin cavity or it may be blown full! Purlin Bay Liner Fabric System Steel Straps Insulation Pull Boards Revitalizes interior appearance. Dramatically increases brightness of existing buildings. Cuts energy consumption by approximately 50%. Retrofit Today! Bay Liner Fabric System Copyright Quantum Technologies, Inc.
