1 Fall Protection Plan Developer (FPPD) Unit Standard (229994) The person wishing to acquire the competencies in this standard will be people responsible for the safety and protection of people working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. The person will be responsible for the safety of others performing tasks at height. Qualifying learners are able to develop fall protection plans for people working at height, required by the Occupational Health and safety act (Act 85 of 1993). Risk Assessment for Working at heights Fall Arrest equipment and Rescue techniques Developing a Fall Protection Plan Manage Safety and Personnel Working at Heights. Two (2) Days. This Course is in line with Unit Standard Assess a worksite for work at height and prepare a fall protection plan R per person excluding VAT

3 Scaffold Safety, Control and Inspection This course is an in-depth look at the Duties of the Scaffold Inspector relating to the safety and controls of scaffold operations. All aspects regarding Kwikstage scaffolding will be discussed. This is the most advanced Scaffold Inspection course we have to offer. -Introduction Components - Foundation - Standards and Tubes Bracing - Tying in Module 7 Classification - Working platforms Module 8 - Access Module 9 Mobile tower scaffolding 0 Height Restrictions, application, use, safety factors, and special scaffolding 1 Public Safety 2 Safety Factors 3 Scaffold Handover - Inspections 4 Control of Scaffolding Operations 5 Responsibilities of the scaffolding user Three (3) Days. 4 Basic Scaffold Inspectors(BSI) The person inspecting a scaffold up to a maximum of 15m in height, shall be able to instruct the scaffolder in areas where faults have to be corrected. 5 Scaffold End User (Working at Heights) Persons attending this course should be or being trained to be, site foreman, scaffolding junior supervisors, or scaffold end users. This course gives the basic concepts of working on scaffolding, scaffold safety, how to inspect and use the harness and a basic rescue plan to assist a fallen coworker from a scaffold structure.
