1 18 February 2016 Dear Sir/Madam INVITATION TO REGISTER, PARTICIPATE AND COMMENT Eskom Air Quality Offsets Plan Public Participation RE: INVITATION TO REGISTER, PARTICIPATE AND COMMENT ON THE ESKOM AIR QUALITY OFFSET IMPLEMENTATION PLANS Eskom invites all interested and affected parties and the general public to participate in the development of their high-level Air Quality Offsets Implementation Plans for the following power stations: In Gert Sibande District Municipality: Camden, Grootvlei, Majuba and Tutuka Power Stations; In Nkangala District Municipality: Kendal, Matla, Kriel, Komati, Duvha, Hendrina and Arnot Power Stations; and Lethabo Power Station Eskom proposes to implement air quality offsets to improve ambient air quality in communities living in the areas affected by the power stations emissions. The high-level Air Quality Offsets Implementation Plans have been drafted and now require input from key stakeholders and the public regarding: areas where offsets are to be implemented the types of offsets to be considered and the implementation approach Public consultation will take place between 22 February and 23 March 2016 to provide interested and affected parties (I&APs) and stakeholders with an opportunity to comment on the content of the offsets plans. EkoInfo CC has been appointed to assist in the above-mentioned public participation process. You are hereby invited to register as an Interested and Affected Party, Stakeholder or Community. Please register by completing the enclosed Registration and Comment Form and submitting this to EkoInfo CC (contact details below). 3 After the commenting period on the draft offset implementation plan has closed, Public Engagement Reports and Comment and Response Reports will be prepared to document all comments received and how they have been considered. These documents will be included as part of the final air quality offset implementation plans submitted for approval to the Department of Environmental Affairs and Licencing Authorities. Registered Interested and Affected Parties will be accordingly notified and copies of the submission will be made available on EkoInfo CC website. Registered Interested and Affected Parties will also be notified of the decision of the relevant authorities in this regard.
