We provide micro solutions where waste is composted at SOURCE from 500 gms to 500 kg per day, to the ever growing problem of waste piling up in the cities, thereby making the environment green by encouraging organic farming. We are into a new and time tested concept of recycling waste with Fungal Inoculum that are important as decomposers and in retaining nutrients and moisture in the soil. 2 Waste Management News Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 All Resident Welfare and market Associations, Gated communities and institution with an area >5,000 sq. m should segregate waste at source- in to valuable dry waste like plastic, tin, glass, paper, etc. and handover recyclable material to either the authorized waste pickers or the authorized recyclers, or to the urban local body. The bio-degradable waste should be processed, treated and disposed of through composting or bio-methanation within the premises as far as possible. The residual waste shall be given to the waste collectors or agency as directed by the local authority. New townships and Group Housing Societies have been made responsible to develop in-house waste handling, and processing arrangements for biodegradable waste. Waste generator will have to pay User Fee to waste collector and for Spot Fine for littering and non-segregation. National Green Tribunal has issued bailable warrants against non compliance to the above said SWM rules, post show cause notice. 2

4 Benefits of Composting From one ton of waste, we can generate around 400 kg of organic manure which can be used for farming and we save 50 % water for irrigation. The organic manure makes the barren land more fertile as the compost gives back the nutrition to the soil. Composting reestablishes the eco system of the soil. 5 The role of Fungi in water retention of the soil Ligno cellular lytic Fungi perform important services related to water dynamics, nutrient cycling, and disease suppression. Along with bacteria, fungi are important as decomposers in the soil food web. They convert hard-to-digest organic material into forms that other organisms can use. Fungal hyphae physically bind soil particles together, creating stable aggregates that help increase water infiltration and soil water holding capacity. Soil fungi can be grouped into three general functional groups based on how they get their energy. The role of Fungi in water retention of the soil Ligno cellular lytic Decomposers saprophytic fungi convert dead organic material into fungal biomass, carbon dioxide (CO2), and small molecules, such as organic acids. These fungi generally use complex substrates, such as the cellulose and lignin, in wood, and are essential in decomposing the carbon ring structures in some pollutants. A few fungi are called sugar fungi because they use the same simple substrates as do many bacteria. Like bacteria, fungi are important for immobilizing, or retaining, nutrients in the soil. In addition, many of the secondary metabolites of fungi are organic acids, so they help increase the accumulation of humic-acid rich organic matter that is resistant to degradation and may stay in the soil for hundreds of years. 5
