9 Current Status of the legal framework in LEBANON Lebanon has adopted a Comprehensive nuclear draft law under the name of : Regulating the Use of Ionizing Radiation. The law is divided into 14 Chapters with 59 provisions. On July 2012 Lebanon made an official request to the IAEA requesting the IAEA s assistance to review the Draft Law. By November 2012 the review was performed by the Office of the Legal Affairs and sent to the LAEC- CNRS to be taken into consideration in finalizing the draft Law. In 2013, a revised copy of the nuclear law was ready for submission to the parliament for promulgation.
