2 The Cycle To Work Initiativ That Doesn't Cost The Earth e Want to save money and the environment at the same time? We have teamed up with OnYourBike to offer huge savings on the cost of a new bike for anyone who cycles to work. Cycle to Work is a scheme made possible by the Governments Green Transport Plan which has been set up specifically to promote the use of bikes as an alternative mode of transport. For further scheme information please speak to your manager.

3 Our commitment At InPress we understand that the activities of our business have an inevitable impact on the environment. We are committed to reducing any negative environmental effects of our day to day operations to an absolute minimum. As a result InPress will seek to address all of its environmental issues and promote through continual improvement a firm commitment to environmental performance. InPress are Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council s in house litho and digital printing service. We have consistently met the requirements of local government print for over 40 years. InPress will through an ongoing process of education, training and commitment, promote a sense of responsibility for the environment and ensure that policy is communicated and implemented throughout the InPress Team. comply with all relevant local, national and international legislation and codes of practice. continually review our processes and evaluate the options for eliminating, reducing or mitigating any associated environmentally detrimental effects. reduce our use of natural resources and improve the efficient use of those resources. procure energy efficient plant and equipment where practicable.

4 reduce environmental emissions associated with travel and the movement of supplies and services. communicate environmental aims and objectives to employees and external stakeholders. actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers. comply with all local, national and international legislation. source papers, without exemption from sustainable well-managed forests and the companies that supply them must prove they meet local and European environmental legislation. segregate, re-use and recycle all paper waste produced in the course of printing. promote full colour printing which uses significantly less chemicals, solvents and paper in job set up and press cleaning. offer short run digital print solutions for those smaller runs. utilise on-line ordering for all DMBC print requirements.

5 have invested in modern technology that has increased energy efficiency and reduced or eliminated the use of chemicals. recycle all spent plates. remove all spent chemicals through an environmentally certified contractor. subscribe to track-you a vehicle tracking fleet management system. vehicles are replaced on a rolling programme that are compliant with the Euro 4 emissions policy, on implementation of Euro 5 emissions policy InPress will comply fully with its requirements. delivery vehicle runs on 5% biodegradable fuel which reduces our CO2 footprint. have invested in a satellite navigation system for energy efficient route planning. are committed to using the delivery vehicle after 9.00 am and before 4.00 pm to avoid rush hour traffic. have promoted the use of the cycle to work scheme.

6 Future plans review this policy on an annual basis. further development and monitoring of existing controls. through trackyou driving inefficiencies will be identified and training is to be provided with a view to increasing driver efficiency. undertake further training in the use of energy efficient systems. further investigate and monitor all energy procurements.
