3 Prognosis of Electricity Consumption Surrounds of CZE in 2020 Political decision to close all NPPs New Renewable PPs Saldo cca minus 5GW Germany New storage pump HPPs Saldo cca minus 3GW Czech rep. Austria Poland Slovakia Hungary Decision to close MW of coal PPs (environmental reasons) Saldo cca minus 4GW New NPP Mochovce units 3,4 Saldo cca plus 1GW Total saldo in the Central Europe is cca 10 GW Impossibility being depended on import for CZE Challenge for new NPPs construction The relatively biggest importer in the Central Europe Saldo cca minus 3GW 2
4 NPP Electricity Situation in Europe Needs of new electrical sources Nuclear power suitable possibility to the future Economy Low risk of investment Chance to eliminate the rapid increase of electricity price in EU Environment No greenhouse gases Preservation of fosil primary fuel for next generations Stability & Energy-Safety Controlable and predictable sources!!! Independence on importing - self sufficiency 3
5 NPP Electricity Situation in CZE Actual power supply situation - good Renewable sources - very limited Impossibility being depended on importing Nuclear power is powerfull, clean and reliable power source Government support/priority Power energy supply - self sufficiency State power energy concept - approval New NPP units are the priority of No.1 4
