4 WHAT IS CCHP? WHAT DOES IT DO? Combined cooling, heat and power (CCHP) aka the Tri-Generation scheme refers to the simultaneous generation of electricity and useful heating and cooling from the combustion of a fuel; CCHP is really not an energy source itself, but rather more of an Energy Multiplier, squeezing more usable energy out of each unit of fuel; It utilizes the heat which would otherwise be wasted after generating electrical power Technologically proven and reliable, this system plays a key role in helping reduce carbon emissions thus helping protect the environment from global warming Electricity Heating Cooling

5 HOW IT WORKS? The process is as follows: - Gas Turbines and Gas Engines generate Electricity by using CNG and release hot flue gas, which is principally the process waste heat; Rather than release it to the atmosphere, ICL s mechanism captures the process waste heat using absorption chillers and utilizes it to produce air conditioning; In this way, 60% of the waste heat that was being wasted or released into the atmosphere is now utilized to produce 80%- 85%* efficiency. And, it s completely Green!

10 DLF CYBER CITY, GURGAON The DLF Cyber City is the largest District Cooling Commercial Area to exist at 52,000 TR and has been running non-stop since 2007; Original Load Requirement at the DLF Cyber City through Conventional Grid System was around 135 MW of electricity; ICL reduced the original requirement to 100 MW and provided 52,000 TR Air Conditioning Requirement through the principles of CCHP; Savings ICL s District Cooling is able to save DLF almost 35Mw of electricity per hour required for Air Conditioning Despite higher capex, the low O&M cost of CCHP compared to Conventional systems, helps produce a very quick ROI; DLF was able to recover the investment in very short tenure and is reaping the benefits till date!
