1 Xerox Corporation: Environment, Health, & Safety Awards Awards The Xerox facility in Webster has been awarded the 2001 New York State Water Environment Association Silver Compliance Recognition Award. The Water Environment Association, Genesee Valley Chapter Industrial Issues Committee recognizes industries with excellent environmental compliance for water. The Asahi Shimbun s 2001 Environment for Tomorrow Award, presented to Fuji Xerox for its comprehensive equipment remanufacture and parts reuse/recycling system. Fuji Xerox received the Earth Environment Committee Award for Corporate Excellence at the 10 th Global Environment Awards, sponsored by the Japan Industrial Journal. FX was recognized for the zero waste system it has implemented nationwide to reclaim used machines. In addition, Fuji Xerox was rated highly for its environmentally friendly practices. This is the second time FX has received an award at the Global Environment Award since Fuji Xerox received the Commendation from the Chairman of the Energy-Conservation Center (Energy Conservation Prize) for the second consecutive year. The award was presented at the Commendation of the 21 st Century Type Energy-Conserving Apparatuses and Systems, sponsored by the Energy Conservation Center. The DocuPrint C2220 was particularly praised for its environmentally friendly qualities. The Energy Conservation prize is awarded for the development of machines/systems that minimize the use of energy. SUMEX won the 2001 Arizona Mexico International Green Organization (AMIGO) award for their pollution prevention promotion activities Awards The British Safety Council s National Safety Award, presented to Xerox s Rampur, India manufacturing facility for its outstanding safety record SUMEX won the 2000 Arizona Mexico International Green Organization (AMIGO) award for Pollution Prevention Promotion. Xerox was recognized for its Waste-Free initiatives by the U.S. EPA and Canada Environment at the biennial State of the Lakes Ecosystem Conference (SOLEC) on October 18, Fuji Xerox Australia received an Environmental Award from the United Nations for its environmental leadership The Millennium European Environmental Award was received by Xerox Europe for implementing sustainable development in its manufacturing operations The Corporate Environmental Vision Award was received by Xerox Corporation for sustainable product design Nikkei BP Technology Award received by Fuji Xerox for its plastics recycling system for copiers, jointly developed with Ube Cycon, Co., Ltd. Commendation from the Director-General of Japan s Agency of Natural Resources and Energy received by Fuji Xerox for the energy efficient design of the DocuColor 1250 Series New Energy Minister of International Trade and Industry Prized awarded to Fuji Xerox s Ebina Plant for its best practice in the introduction of solar energy power generation equipment
