Long Term Unemployed. Barriers to Work Basic skills all customer groups Work Capability Assessment 5 Entrenched worklessness, low confidence, lack of work experience, limited employer marketability. Support for those where work is an 4 Support for those lacking sufficient basic literacy skills to read or write sufficiently to carry out effective jobsearch activities. Support to overcome practical barriers to work. Lone Parents 2 Moving Lone Parents closer to the labour market and into work. Support for people who are unlikely to look for work without some help to increase motivation/confidence In Work Support 8 Assistance to support the

Computer course to help people learn the basic essential skills to use computers with confidence, be more productive e.g. create and use an account, use the internet for job search activities. Ex-offenders 4 Support for ex-offenders, JSA/ UC all ages, Identifying barriers, dealing with disclosure, motivation, and support with job-hunting skills. Support for those where work is an immediate realistic prospect once barriers are addressed. West of ESOL 5 Support required for refugees followed by work experience. Support to improve motivation/confidence and overcome practical barriers to work. West of Addiction 4 Support required for people significant barriers including drugs/alcohol and subsistence abuse. Working with customers waiting on WCA, soft skills, confidence, and flexible re hours to suit needs of the individual. Support people who are unlikely to look for work without some help to increase motivation/confidence 4
5 North of All Claimant Groups 3 Job coaching for our harder to help clients move closer to the labour market. Confidence building, solution focused training, motivation, challenging negative attitudes. Support people to be proficient and selfsufficient in job hunting Key Priorities for next Quarter Central District Central Health Condition 4 Support for people with health conditions including mental health issues to overcome barriers to employment, including claimants who have previously been receiving ESA but have failed the Work Capability Assessment Central Older Workers Digital skills to improve job search techniques and IT skills to help move into vacancies available in today s job market. For those where work is an immediate realistic prospect once barriers are addressed. Central ESOL 4 Enhanced ESOL type provision focussing on language used in Job Interviews and the work environment. Work experience or volunteering could be used as an introduction to employers. For those where work is an immediate realistic prospect once barriers are addressed. Central Mental Health 4 Provision required supporting customers with Mental Health issues to understand the nature of their illness, improve confidence and motivation, demonstrating that work can assist in their recovery. Tailored Intensive support for people with significant barriers. 5
6 Central Ex ESA customers now claiming JSA 5 Improving the confidence and motivation of clients who until recently have been on a health related benefit, providing support back into employment. For those where work is an immediate realistic prospect once barriers are addressed. Central Ex-Offenders 4 Working with this client group, addressing other barriers that may contribute to their offending lifestyle, e.g. drugs and or alcohol. Provide help with sourcing possible employment with advice on how to disclose their criminal record to future employers. Tailored Support for the hardest to help customers Central Addiction issues 4 Addressing the barriers presented by these addictions to support customers in job search and moving closer to employment, signposting where applicable to additional support groups. Tailored Support for the hardest to help customers Central Literacy and Numeracy 5 Support to improve motivation/confidence and overcome practical barriers to work Central Lone Parents 5 Support required improving motivation, confidence and job search skills. Work experience or volunteering could be an ideal opportunity to introduce these customers to a working environment. Central Skills Training 6 Short certificated training in various sectors leading to employment in that field. Central BME 1 To engage with BME communities encouraging inclusion and providing support to potential JCP customers who traditionally find it difficult to access our 6
7 Central Young People services and to help move closer to the labour market. 5 To work with young people aged providing practical support by way of Work Experience or Volunteering to promote a work ethic and an understanding of a career path (Any Job Better Job Career) Central Homeless 5 Engage with this client group, providing practical solutions to address the barriers and issues leading to their homelessness. Help develop strategies to positively connect with employers. Hints and tips for the Dynamic Purchasing System Selecting Basware filters- Ensure that you tick all the filters that apply, particularly lead in times.
