Directs plant FCs for maintaining optimum parameters of the plant and oversees plant operations to ensure compliance of the safety, environment & operating guidelines. Also responsible for implementation of company safety, quality, environment and training policies. Ensure safe effective emergency handling during plant emergencies. Responsible for scheduled/ unscheduled inspections of furnaces, boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping with particular reference to corrosion or any other service induced defects or damage. The principal activities of the job include scheduling of jobs, assignment delegation, updating of databases, developing repair procedures, interacting with clients/ customers and recording/ reporting of the inspection findings. Ensure compliance to Mechanical Integrity Ensure PIRR, MSA, SOC, PHA, PSSR point compliance relevant to assigned area Develop inspection plans and then implement them as per the guidelines provided

5 Ensure the integrity of stationary equipment such as pressure vessels, piping, and heat exchangers by inspecting them at their pre-determined frequencies Provide repair procedures to Maintenance Department as technical support Maintain and monitor pressure safety valve calibration schedule to assure the safety and integrity of equipment and personnel as per the guidelines Participate in the review of new designs and subsequent plant modifications (both temporary and permanent) to ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes as per the guidelines provided Attain group objectives throughout and ensure quality of work by supervising, monitoring, developing and appraising subordinate staff

6 1. Responsible for attaining safe and trouble free units operation during the shift thru coordination with other production department units. 2. He is responsible for continuous monitoring, troubleshooting & emergency handling of all equipment, controllers & parameters on DCS & PLC system 3. He will also ensure that PLC never remains unattended at any time. His boiler post field operator is available for monitoring, troubleshooting of all the parameters on in his absence. 4. To ensure plant routine jobs are being conducted as per schedule fills any routine operations checklists of respective units. 5. To attend any staff meetings and management meetings when required. 6. To ensure that samples are being sent as per schedule to control lab and results are received on-time. To suggest and ensure effective chemistry control of all sections by close supervision. To coordinate with Control lab and get check sampling performed if required for effective process and quality control. 7. To lead the operation group in case of a plant contingency and ensure safe and smooth emergency handling. 8. To lead the operation group for safe and smooth plant startup and shutdown activities. 9. To report plant emergencies to Utilities Manager. 10. To coordinate with relevant units for restart of the units. 11. To provide inputs to unit manager for career development of his shift group and ensures compliance of individuals career plans. Also to coordinate for promotion and progression of his shift personnel. 12. Keep open and candid communication with all personnel of the shift group for their problems and the softer issues and informs concerned. 13. To ensure cross training of area operators thru yearly training plan. 14. Responsible for skill certification of shift personnel as per skill certification system. 15. Responsible for the participation of the respective shift individuals in the special training programs arranged by production, safety and Environment section etc. 16. To report any new sources of pollution to unit manager, Safety section to initiate corrective action. 17. To monitor the waste water removal system and eliminate any violations. Reports deviations to respective Unit manager. 18. To notify the unit manager and Safety section of the details of all safety incidents during shift including any of the following: 19. Death of or injury to any person employed by the company or by any third parties a result of an accident at the site 20. Any massive spillage of toxic, hazardous chemicals. 21. Any Safety incidents, I.e. Near miss, Fire, Explosion, Vapor release 22. Any loss or damage to any part of the installation or equipment 23. To ensure implementation of corrective actions and recommendations of safety Investigation reports. 24.
