Expense sheet Mailbox account Cell phone list Chelsea will put it in your mailbox (quarterly) Business cards Chelsea will put it in your mailbox Therapist development checklist Orientation Coordinator introduces self-paced trainings #1 Reinforcement and Punishment #2 Functions of Behavior #3 Behavior Reduction Plans #4 Teaching Techniques #5 Discrete Trial Teaching #6 Prompting and Error Correction #7 Step Sheets #8 Operational Definitions and Data Sheet #9 School and Home Parent Interactions Once you complete the test put it in Jenny Baird s mailbox. If you got 100% it is filed in your personal file. If you got any incorrect Jenny will review them during your group trainings. You can take as many as you want at one time and don t have to wait to see if you got 100% to move on to the next test. You have 4 weeks to complete the tests from your start date. Summary of discrete trial teaching This training focus on the components of discrete trial teaching, parts of a trial, and general guidelines of discrete trial teaching. Summary of a step sheet and data collection This training will focus on a brief overview of all the components of the step sheet. You will review teaching, prompting and error correction procedures, set up, position and field size, the specifics of the Sd presentation, data collection procedures and the response definitions. 3:00pm 3:30pm Orientation Coordinator meets with new staff- any questions, anything needed? 6 DAY TWO 8:30am 9:00am Meet with Clinical Director or Lead Therapist of the student in their classroom 9:00am 11:00am Observation of student: Block #1 11:00am 1:00pm Review time with Jenny Baird in the staff room. 1:00pm 3:00pm SOLVE training - staff room with Josh Dahlin 3:00pm 3:30pm Vocational Training staff room with Vocation staff Copyright Nashoba Learning Group, Inc. 6
7 DAY THREE 8:30am 9:00am Meet with CD or Lead Therapist of the student in their classroom 9:00am 3:00pm Observation of student: Block #2 Observation of student: Block #3 Observation of student: Block #4 8:30am 9:00am DAY FOUR Meet with CD or Lead Therapist of the student in their classroom 9:00am 3:00pm New staff in the chair getting directed by the trainer: Block #5 New staff in the chair getting directed by trainer: Block #6 New staff in the chair getting directed by trainer (trainer is beginning to fade back from the student): Block #7 Copyright Nashoba Learning Group, Inc. 7
8 DAY FIVE 8:30am 9:00am Meet with CD or Lead Therapist of the student in their classroom 9:00am 3:30pm New staff in the chair getting directed by trainer (trainer has begun to fade back from the student): Block #8 New staff in the chair getting directed by trainer (trainer has faded back completely from the student): Block #9 Trainer signs off on training log to be filed in Archive book. Trainer completes procedural reliability forms on behavior plans. Trainer completes procedural reliability forms and interobserver agreement forms on at least 5 academic programs. Trainer should address and correct errors found through procedural reliability forms and interobserver agreement forms; new forms should be completed If new staff requires more overlap training after block #9, it must be done by a Clinical Director. 9 WEEK TWO New staff is on the schedule by themselves with the student and will begin training on their next student. If new staff works with vocation students they will receive 3 extra training blocks to train on vocation programs. Mentor checks-in regarding usage of /network Mentor meets with new staff (8:30am-9am) and (3pm-3:30pm) and reviews Therapist Development Checklist. New employee should be concentrating on the therapist section for the first month of employment. Mentor begins to schedule time before and after school to review specific concerns and/or new employee progress. DURING THE SECOND WEEK Orientation Coordinator checks in with new staff regarding general questions or concerns Orientation Coordinator confirms mentor scheduled times to meet with new staff Orientation Coordinator confirms mentor begins reviewing Therapist Development Checklist with new staff Copyright Nashoba Learning Group, Inc. 9
