3 3 1. Background and purpose Bonava Group seeks to contribute to a sustainable society and therefore conducts its business with respect and care for both social and environmental values. Thus, Bonava has defined and prioritized the most material sustainability aspects as described in the Bonava sustainability agenda below. Bonava Group aims to continually improve its sustainability performance by focusing on progress for the material sustainability aspects and including sustainability considerations as a natural part of all our business activities. 2. Policy statement Sustainability Targeting sound sustainability practices, Bonava Group adheres to and promotes the following minimum standards in all of our operations: The universal principles as stated by UN Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. The OECD-guidelines for multinational enterprises Reporting the sustainability impact yearly, in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative, level core and communicates progress to UN Global Compact. On yearly basis reviewing materiality and targets of the Bonava sustainability agenda, working for constant improvements to contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals number 11 Sustainable cities and communities, 12 Responsible production and consumption, 14 Climate action, 8 Decent work and economic growth and 17 Partnerships for the goals. Acting in line with the pre-cautionary approach These statements must be seen as an addition to and in compliance with Bonava s Code of Conduct, HR Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Purchasing Policy and Group Tax Procedure,
4 4 2.1 Social responsibility Targeting social responsibility, Bonava Group adheres to and promotes the following minimum standards in all of our operations: - Complying with relevant local and international legislation and regulations on human rights, labour, anti-corruption and tax - Contributing to society primarily by supporting development of sustainable cities and communities, including delivering homes in the affordable segment - Prioritizing health and safety to achieve the long term goal of Zero harm, making no difference between subcontractors or Bonava employees - Implementing this policy for responsible supply chain management, by assessing compliance to Bonava s Code of Conduct including the principles of UN Global Compact in assortment of suppliers 2.2 Environment Targeting sound environmental practices, Bonava Group adheres to and promotes the following minimum standards in all of our operations: - Complying with relevant local and international environmental legislation and regulations - Striving to develop homes and neighbourhoods that support our customers minimizing their negative environmental impact - Striving for a circular production model, by resource efficient design and production including managing waste in an efficient manner, seeking to reuse or recycle materials where possible; with the purpose to reduce need for raw material and minimize greenhouse gas emissions - Striving for sustainable use of land by remediation and protection and/or compensation of endangered ecological values - Co-operating with international, national and local authorities and organizations to proactively improve and verify environmental efficiency of our products - Minimizing the use of harmful substances, proactively exploring the use of materials that are benign to people and to the environment throughout the entire lifecycle in order to act in line with the precautionary approach - Minimizing the consumption of energy in all our operations 3. Relevant Entity This policy applies to all employees and representatives of Bonava Group. 4. Roles and responsibilities Bonava s CEO is responsible for ensuring compliance with the minimum standards and general guidelines stated in this policy throughout the Group, while the individual Group companies are responsible for implementing and adapting
5 5 these standards and guidelines to the operations and specific contexts of the markets where they operate. The Group Head of Sustainability is responsible for the content of this policy, and co-ordination with other relevant policy responsible functions. 5. Monitoring of compliance Bonava Group will ensure that all companies and their employees are aware of the Sustainability policy. Adherence to the policy will be monitored continuously at Group level and reported in line with the guidelines of Global Reporting Initiative.
