We would like to assure you that you have made a good choice, and will be able to rely on this high quality piece of equipment. You are welcome to phone us on to discuss any feature of this mower. We ask you to follow the Instruction Manual closely, as this will ensure that you experience the benefits of using the machine without unnecessary down time caused by misuse. The return of the Warranty Registration Form will enable a prompt and efficient identification of your mower and attention to any concern you may have. IDENTIFYING THE MACHINE FOR REQUESTING SPARE PARTS The machine is identified by the serial number on the metal plate on the machine. When requesting spare parts or maintenance service, please indicate the model and number of your equipment to ensure prompt and efficient attention. AVAILABILITY OF GENUINE PARTS K-LINE spare parts and accessorised have been specifically designed and developed for the machines produced. We would call your attention to the fact that non-genuine parts and accessories are not recommended by K-LINE. The use of such replacement parts frees K- LINE from all liability and makes the warranty void. The installation and/or use of non-genuine parts may, because of technical characteristics of construction, may modify or influence the performance of the machine negatively. AFTER DELIVERY When you receive the machine, make sure that no damage has been done to it during transportation and that no parts are missing. Only by giving us immediate advice can the necessary replacement parts be obtained. It should be ensured that all components are correctly adjusted. Page 3 of 16

4 INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE OPERATION The machine must not be operated, maintained or repaired by people who are not aware of the contents of this Risk Document. This User s Manual must be read and understood by all those who use, adjust or control the machine. These safety instructions must be supplied to all users. 1. ENSURE tractor drawbar pin is locked securely in place. 2. ENSURE all personnel are clear of machine when folding/unfolding & when in operation. 3. DO NOT activate unit while people are within 100 metres. 4. KEEP CLEAR of machine when in working & lifted position AT ALL TIMES. 5. Hydraulic lines & hoses operate under extremely high pressure & if damaged or worn MUST be repaired IMMEDIATELY. 6. Keep HANDS & BODY CLEAR of any oil leakage as high pressure oil can penetrate the skin. 7. DO NOT stand on or ride on machine. 8. NEVER get under or on top of machine when it is supported by implement jack 9. NEVER adjust or service this mower whilst tractor is running. Always disconnect PTO shaft from Tractor before conducting maintenance. 10. This machine has not been designed or built for road use. Please consult State Police, Roads & Traffic Authority and any other relevant authorities regarding the roads concerned when in transit. 11. DO NOT operate if any part of this machine is within 10 metres of overhead power lines. 12. SPEED LIMIT Subject to permit regulations, local Government Authorities, road surface conditions & prime mover towing recommendations. Maximum towing speed is 25km/hr. DO NOT EXCEED AT ANY TIME. 13. TYRE PRESSURE Consult recommended tyre pressure table 14. Before operation, all hydraulic cylinders must be primed. Keep body well clear when attaching tractor to machine at all times. Follow all safety precautions set out on preceding pages. 1. Back tractor up to machine. 2. Place tractor in park position. 3. Secure drawbar pin in place with lynch pin (see Figure 1). 4. Plug in hydraulic lines into tractor remotes. 5. Raise implement jack & lock into position. Figure 1 Figure 2 UN-HITCHING 1. Stop tractor engine and place in park position. 2. Use implement jack to raise machine slightly (ensure jack is securely locked in position) (see Figure 2). 3. Remove drawbar pin. 4. Release hydraulic hoses. 5. Tractor is now ready to drive away. Page 5 of 16

6 SAFE WORK PROCEDURES TO SET MACHINE IN WORKING POSITION 1. Park tractor on a safe level site. Engage park brake. Ensure all bolts are correctly tensioned and pins are secure before operating. Do not stand within wing/side deck radius at any time. 2. Slowly lower machine wings to working position. Keep all personnel at least 6.0m away from machine when lowering wings. 3. 7 TO SET MACHINE IN TRANSPORT POSITION 1. Park tractor on safe level site, engage park brake. Ensure all bolts are correctly tensioned and pins are securely fastened. 2. Ensure all personnel are at least 6.0m away from machine. Observe correct manual handling techniques. 3. Ensure Transport Safety Latch is in raised position (Hydraulically operated). 4. Raise all decks to transport position. 5. Lower Transport Safety Latch to locked position (Hydraulically operated). NEVER STAND WITHIN WING RADIUS For repairs and maintenance always Lower machine to the ground Use suitable jack stands for the frame support when servicing in raised position Disconnect PTO shaft. NEVER GET UNDER MACHINE WHILST IN RAISED POSITION WITHOUT APPROVED JACK STANDS IN PLACE. THE OPERATOR MUST ENSURE NO PERSONNEL ARE NEAR MACHINE WHEN LOWERING, RAISING OR OPERATING MACHINE. Eye protection (safety glasses or goggles), foot protection (safety boots) hand protection (gloves) and any other specific protective equipment must be worn when adjusting machine. Page 7 of 16

8 CUTTING HEIGHT CONTROL This machine is designed to be used as a turf mower, therefore must be operated accordingly. Do not set blade position less than 25mm above ground level as THIS WILL VOID WARRANTY Each deck assembly has adjustable cutting height fore and aft, and from side to side. Use the four turn buckle assemblies on each deck to adjust (see Figure 5). Check for even cutting height across the width of machine. Figure 5 Cutter blades 1. Set each deck on jack stands securely before attempting to change cutter blades. 2. Use only genuine blades & bolts supplied by K-Line Industries. 3. Check blades every two hours for breakage and fractures. 4. Always replace blades in pairs on each rotor i.e. opposite each other to retain rotor balance (see Figure 6). 9 SAFETY INSPECTION & LUBE SERVICE Conduct a lube service & safety inspection after first 5hrs of use & each 50 hrs thereafter. Grease PTO universal cross joints after 50 hrs of operation (see Figure 7). Check wheel stud tension first hour of operation or after changing of wheels CHECK GEARBOX OIL LEVELS DAILY. Check oil level via oil level plug on each rotor gearbox (see Figure 8). Use dipstick to check oil level on main crossbox (see Figure 9). Use BP HYPOGEAR 80W90 or equivalent. Discs spin freely & bolts are tight. All pins (including lynch pins) are in place and all bolts correctly tensioned. Wheel nuts are tight & tyre pressure checked on all tyres (recommended tyre pressure 200 KPA. Hydraulic hoses are sound and show no signs of wear. Keeper plate bolts are firm. Check frame for fatigue & failure. Ensure all appropriate safety decals are securely attached to machine (refer to page 10). Instruction manual is installed on machine and caps secured. 11 RISK MANAGEMENT Risk management is the process of finding out what may cause an injury, deciding what may happen as a result, and doing something about it. The steps of risk management are: Identify the hazards to workplace health and safety arising from work activities Assess the risks Determine and implement control measures to reduce risk Monitor and review the effectiveness of the control measures IDENTIFYING HAZARDS Prior to commencing work, all hazards related to the work tasks should be identified. The selection of the appropriate work procedure(s) will depend on the type of work procedure(s) and hazards involved. Regular safety inspections will also identify hazards and ensure that control measures are in place. RISK ASSESSMENT Risk assessment allows appropriate control measures to be developed. Once hazards have been identified, they should be assessed in terms of their potential to do harm. To assess risk, consideration should be given to probability and consequences. SEE RISK ASSESSMENT MODEL. RISK CONTROL Risk control is the process of eliminating or reducing risk factors. Control measures should be chosen and implemented to eliminate or reduce risk as far as practicable. When deciding on the most appropriate measures to use, practicality and acceptance of the control measures should be considered. Safe Working Procedures will be developed for all high medium risk hazards. MONITOR AND REVIEW CONTROL MEASURES The risk identification, assessment and control process requires regular monitoring to ensure the implemented control measures perform as originally intended and continue to prevent or adequately control the risk of injury or incident. 12 Control measures should also be checked carefully to ensure that new hazards are not created, directly or indirectly, by the original control measures. 14 WARRANTY K-LINE INDUSTRIES have been known over the last 14 years for supplying an ever expanding range of quality agricultural machinery. K-LINE INDUSTRIES warrants the products it manufactures and distributes to be free of defective materials and workmanship for a period of twelve months from date of purchase, to the first owner. Any part of the goods manufactured and distributed by K-LINE INDUSTRIES that proves to be defective material, will be replaced or repaired by K-LINE INDUSTRIES when returned to K-LINE INDUSTRIES at cost to purchaser and at purchaser s risk. Goods sold shall only have the benefit of this warranty if the purchaser has complied with the manufacturer s instructions in relation to the maintenance and operation of the said goods. All conditions and warranties implied by Law or Statute are hereby expressly excluded and negatived so far as legally permissible. K-LINE INDUSTRIES is not otherwise liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage howsoever arising or occurring, whether founded in tort, contract, and statute or otherwise. This warranty must be read as subject to the General Terms and Conditions and does not cover misuse, neglect or negligence. ANY CLAIM FOR WARRANTY IS ALSO SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: Equipment must be handled, assembled, and operated, maintained and stored correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions by competent personnel. Warranty registration form must be signed by reseller and purchaser and returned to K-LINE INDUSTRIES within 14 days of invoice. Normal wear and tear, routine maintenance costs and accidental damage are NOT covered by this warranty. Any alteration of equipment or negligence in maintenance renders this warranty null and void.
