6 Abstract This study analyzed the discourse structure of the televised Cebuano and English Sunday mass sermons as a genre. Furthermore, it expounded on the types of sermons; the types of code-switching; and the relationship between the types of sermons and the types of code-switching. The present research zooms in the three Cebuano sermons and another three English sermons which are conveyed by six Roman Catholic priests as the participants of the study. The transcribed sermons functioned as the main source of data. The results unveiled that there were no specific discourse patterns in the televised Cebuano and English mass sermons; both Topical and Exposition types of sermons were widely represented; and Smooth type of codeswitching was mostly employed by priests. Hence, there is a negative relationship between the types of sermons and the types of code-switching.
