2 PROFILE Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL) provides world-class aero engine and component repair services to many of the world s most respected airlines that have chosen Rolls-Royce to power their fleet of Airbus and Boeing Aircrafts. With the establishment of HAESL, a joint venture between Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO), Rolls Royce plc (RR) and SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC), more than US$22 million has been invested to create a state-of-the-art aero engine overhaul and test facility. HAESL is continuing to develop its advanced aero engine service capabilities, primarily for the Rolls-Royce RB2 and Trent series of engines which are used extensively in many of the aircrafts in open today. 3 SERVICES HAESL operates an engine overhaul and component repair business for all the large fan Rolls-Royce engines in service today. This includes complete engine overhaul work packages right down to the level of repairs on individual parts with services tailored to specific openal requirements of airlines. HAESL s priority is to ensure timely, reliable and cost effective redelivery of engine components and complete engines back to its customers to keep openal disruptions to the absolute minimum. HAESL s modern facility uses fully approved repair procedures, many of which have been developed by our highly skilled and experienced engineering staff. These procedures ensure all our products are of world-class quality and are delivered to guaranteed timescales. With an expanding and motivated skilled workforce that have received highly specialised training, and continuous investment in advanced technology, HAESL delivers this service to its customers 365 days of the year. HAESL has serviced over 2,400 large fan engines since its establishment in 996. ADDING VALUE HAESL complements its advanced workshop capabilities with a range of additional value-added customer services including direct technical 24/7 assistance, remote-site emergency support, module change and direct engineering support to major engine modification programmes that may require close coordination with the engine manufacturer. In addition, HAESL also offers on-wing support to all variants of the Rolls-Royce RB2-524 and the Trent family of engines. 5 EXCELLENCE Rolls-Royce, as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), has established a programme of accredited Centres of Excellence (CoE) as part of its global strategy to ensure that world-class levels of efficiency, productivity and quality are maintained. HAESL s CoE for the repair of Honeycomb lining structures and Bearing Supports were the first CoEs worldwide to achieve the Rolls-Royce Gold Award. Other OEM accredited Centres of Excellence for Fan Blade and Turbine Blade have also been accredited with the Gold Award. TURN AROUND TIME An important outcome of quality and process excellence is HAESL s ability to guarantee on-time delivery. HAESL is doing this day in and day out through the highly developed Streamer process and strict control of its external supplier network.
