2 theoretical aspects definitions Greases for use in roller and slide bearings are non-fluid lubricants made from mineral or synthetic oil and thickeners. Additional solid lubricants and additives are allowed to be used (DIN ). A solid or semi-fluid lubricant consisting of a thickening agent in a liquid lubricant. Other ingredients imparting special properties may be included. (ASTM) Greases are lubricating oils which - thanks to thickeners - are not running away. (No official standard)
