Application examples are body and glazing seals, foamed TPE profiles for body seals, arm rests. All Marfran materials comply with general automotive standards. Decoration and colour are among the advantages offered by Marfran TPE grades, which also offer good acoustic design possibilities. Moreover, the material can be recycled and presents good scratch and abrasion resistance, ensuring long service life. Marfran TPEs are capable of overmould bonding to a wide range of materials; including engineering thermoplastics, allowing for reduced production steps and assembly times. When compared with thermoset rubbers TPEs are lighter, and can reduce total weight of the vehicle.

They can be used to replace thermoset rubber, reducing weight and production steps while offering excellent durability and design versatility. Marfran TPE compounds are used to manufacture a variety of diving and swimming equipment applications including; fins, mouthpieces, snorkels and swimming goggles. Marfran materials are suitable for alkaline and chlorinated water environments and their abrasion and tear resistance gives the product a long life. They are available in a range of hardnesses with a variety of surface finishes, enhancing product design and giving the consumer the desired touch and feel. The material structure of Marfran TPE produces the high surface tackiness and high friction required in these applications. When it comes to choosing between filled and unfilled grades* the questions are: Shall the handle be scratch-resistant with an attractive finish? Are bright colours required? When good scratch resistance is essential, an unfilled material should be considered because the presence of a filler causes scratches. However, the filler provides a more stable melt, improving injection moulding and extrusion. *Unfilled material is scratch-resistant and has a lower density than filled material. Filled material is more heat-resistant and also gives a drier feeling than unfilled material.

The material provides a comfortable and tactile grip, even when wet, while the scratch and abrasion resistance properties ensure long product life. With SEBS rubber as a base, there is a higher temperature resistance, making it suitable for household articles that are exposed to high-heat. What s more, Marfran TPE offers many design advantages; it is easy to colour and transparent grades are available. Marfran TPEs can be over-moulded onto other polymers such as ABS or PC to create a rigid product with a soft-touch exterior finish.

Marfran TPE offers excellent abrasion and general wear resistance, as well as good surface finish. The material has low density and provides for weight reduction. Excellent UV and weather resistance make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage. Both overmouldingand undermoulding processes are possible with excellent bonding to technical plastics. Using Marfran TPE material gives wheels a long service live and a low rolling resistance. Applications include wheels for golf trolleys runs very well over all types of terrain -prams, zimmer frames, shopping trolleys.

11 MARFRAN E WLH1 It is a new elastomeric compound with hardness shore A 0. It is transparent, soft and certified according to UNI/EN/ISO :2009 for safe skin contact. It has a gel like structure and can be injected molded and extruded.
