What is HANDYWOOD? Wood-plastic composite material (recycled material reusing unused lumber and recycled plastics.) A material that combines the good parts of wood and plastics Superior characteristics for users and designers A multi-recycling system (1) Wood-plastic composite material (recycled material reusing unused lumber and recycled plastics.) Made by mixing and molding wood powder (0.2~0.3 m/m) and plastics. The main raw materials: By weight are wood 50% or less and plastics 50% or more. Appearance-wise: Wood accounts for 70% in terms of volume ratio that makes it possible to obtain woody material of high quality. (2) A material that combines the good parts of wood and the good parts of plastics. Texture: HANDYWOOD feels just like wood (hard and highly durable tropical lumber) itself. It also has a more natural feel and better anti-slip characteristics compared to other recycled wood materials. Its durability comes from the use of plastics, which are highly resistant to water, humidity, termites, and wood-destroying fungus. The combination of wood powder and plastics results in a material that has superior strength and durability. (3) Superior characteristics for users and designers. Good for the senses and has neither a split nor a crack and is kind to people. Anti-slip characteristics, strong wear and scratch resistance. High weather resistance, light resistance, and color fastness. High stain resistance, chemical resistance, and easy maintenance characteristics. (4) A multi-recycling system Easily recognizable cross-sections Single compound material A detail with the attached portion for construction and assemblies A re-recyclable system that is easy to dismantle and separate.

HANDYWOOD features High quality and eco-material combined material Wood accounts for 70% in terms of volume ratio, thus, makes it possible to feel as natural wood. No burning, No dumping, multi-recycling system. It was admitted the environmental load was a little, and was useful for environmental preservation through the entire life cycle of the product, and was recognized to the Eco-mark commodity. Compliance with JIS Standards (Wood-plastic composite material A5741) HANDYWOOD is equivalent to the highest-level recycling(r90). Easy maintenance Surface fineness can be maintained by brushing in every 2 or 3 months. A burn of tobacco, surface dirt, and a crack can be repaired by sandpaper processing. Irregularity of the surface was made uneven on purpose, the repair mark and some cracks are not remarkable. Burnt by cigarette Cracks, scratches, etc. Zoom/Enlargement
HANDYWOOD features Reassurance and Safety It is safe for bare feet and hands since it does not splinter or crack. Does not discharge volatile harmful substances such as Formaldehyde. Does not elute nor contain heavy metal. Less reflection of the ultraviolet compared to the tropical lumbers or porcelain tiles, thus gentler material to eyes and the skins. Weak reflection : HANDYWOOD Ditches on the surface are deep and uneven. Strong reflection : Tropical lumber or Porcelain tiles, etc. : The surface is comparatively smooth and flat. Specially processed rugged surface is less likely to slip to both width and length directions and it is safe even in a rainy day. Examination Method Coefficient of Slip Resistance (C.S.R.) Longitudinal 0.86 Widthwise 1.11 Dryness state Evaluation Considerably Nonslip Extremely Nonslip Water wet state Coefficient of Slip Resistance (C.S.R.) 0.82 1.07 Evaluation Considerably Nonslip ExtremelyNo nslip
HANDYWOOD features Durability Weatherability Also excellent on water-proof performance, thus it does not rot, separate nor degrade The rate of a dimensional change of water absorption and moisture absorption is excellent compared with native wood material or other synthetic wood. No damage of decay fungi such as a mushroom generated in natural wood, nor damage of a termite. Has a cross-section which holds retentivity of the screw high and is hard to crack from where screw has been nailed. Discoloration and deterioration by ultraviolet rays and rain are little, and the change will hardly be seen in ten years. Sunshine weather meter examination result. HANDYWOOD /Jarrah (Tropical lumber) 5,000 hours is equivalent to about 10 years. (Depends on the region and duration of sunshine.) Convenience Weatherability Able to cut or open holes by carpenter equipments such as electronic saw or planer. Putting screws or cutting part vertical direction can be chosen in a 5 mm pitch. Design and use will expand, if combined with exclusive aluminum material. Precautions for use There may be a chance that grinding sludge to remain on the product s surface, and its color may be migrated in rare cases, if it is left adhere to other things Please do not light a fire or heat something up on the product as there is a danger that it may catch a fire or change the shape as same as natural wood. Please use the sole plate etc to disperse the weight when placing a heavy load on this product. Please do not give a strong impact on the surface, handle it roughly, nor use it for other than its purpose as there is a danger of damaging it. When organic solvents and oil, such as kerosene and gasoline, adhere to the product surface, please wipe off immediately since it becomes a factor of discoloration and modification.
Recognition of HANDYWOOD HANDYWOOD has been approved and certified as an Eco Mark product for the following reasons, such as no burning, no dumping, multi-recycling system material, and environmental impact is minimal throughout the product life cycle. Thus, it will be useful for the environmental preservation. Safety In order to be certified as an Eco Mark product, there are examinations to examine whether the product contains toxic chemicals or eluting out. HANDYWOOD had neither containing nor eluting out of toxic chemicals and has been proved its safety. Moreover, it has been admitted to use not only exterior material but interior material as it did not discharge formaldehyde. Recycling rate HANDYWOOD: 100% Wooden material and plastics material which compose HANDYWOOD are all 100% recycled materials. The recognition of the Eco Mark is a result of the evaluation on a material, production, a quality, and a corporate side. Material Recycling material usage rate(100%) Raw material should be clear reproduction material. No elution nor contain of the toxic chemical. Non VOC nor discharge of formaldehyde. Quality High durability Safety Production Factories are in compliance with the environmental regulations. Thoroughness of less packing materials. Corporation Quality control system.
