From the Concept of the Honorable Merchant to the Certified CSR-Manager Training The Tradition of the honorable businessman dates back to the 12 th century Europe. Merchants of the Hanseatic League and in Italy used it as mean of self-awareness and to reassure buyers of their trustworthiness. Important principles included reliability, honesty, honorable actions serving as a moral compass and sustainability of their ventures. Ever since, the picture of the honorable businessman or merchant has changed but never vanished as a way to do business. Today, the topic becomes more and more important again and is losing any timely or regional limitation. The current financial and economic crisis diminished consumers trust in companies and profit orientation. Clients believe that today s business practices go against social interests and, therefore, their own interests. As a result, enterprises have to work hard to achieve and retain a good reputation. A reference to the values of the respectable businessman seems fit to build and maintain public trust in a distrustful environment. Businesses are increasingly expected to act economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. Rising customer awareness and energy costs are among the reasons for which CSR strategies are becoming a standard in large companies. This interactive seminar will equip participants with the ability to strategically manage future CSR demands and identify related opportunities. Slide 2 / 12

Testimonials Nhlanhla Mtshali Certified CSR-Manager (German Chamber Network) Mercedes-Benz South Africa From the first day in October 2013 when I heard about the Certified CSR Manager Training Course, I was intrigued with the course content offering. I knew that there was something special about this training and I have not been disappointed at all. The training has not only met my expectations it has exceeded them. Previously, my understanding on CSR was very much limited to the Community aspect of the 4 dimensions of CSR which are Market Place, Workforce, Environment and Community. After completing the training my knowledge has broadened to all 4 dimensions. I now know how to apply the CSR principles that I've learned to effectively position Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) where I work as the Group CSR Manager as a Good Corporate Citizen. I would recommend this training to any CSR Practitioner as I believe that with the correct foundation we can be the change that we want to see in our respective societies. Slide 7 / 12
