With more than 200 SWRO systems installed globally, SUEZ has carried out projects in all sizes under many different projects structures. These projects range from small plants producing 100m 3 /day to the 200,000m 3 /day Hamma Desalination Plant in Algeria. From these 200 sites, more than 50 are under longterm operation contract, executed by SUEZ. ELMASA, the local utility served by the Maspalomas plant (Spain), has been a SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions client since 1985. Their plant was expended by SUEZ 3 times. It is also designed with a selection of robust products with high level of material of construction quality. The high-pressure pumps and boost pumps for example, are designed for energy efficiency and long operating life cycles. The systems can be optimized to meet future water demands. This flexibility accommodates any capacity for today and future expansions, as well as water quantity, water quality, or operating uptime. Also, newly developed technologies could be incorporated in order to e.g. increase yield in water or energy consumption. Operational flexibility adjusts to changing conditions (salinities, flows and temperature variations moderated thanks to SCADA controls for optimized electrical consumption). Our service, technical and engineering staff is deployed globally and would work with you under specific contract agreements. These items position SeaSMART Trains for both sustainability and reliability over time. built to meet your specific needs SeaSMART building blocks are modular and can be adapted to your specific requirements as well as to site specificities; they indeed may be assembled into unique technical solutions. Your specific requirements are addressed quickly. SeaSMART provides high efficiency footprint and layout, which leads to minimized building size thus construction costs. As an example, the vessel per area ratio is reduced 16% on a 30MLD SWRO Train and 31% on a 10MLD SWRO Train (comparison between a typical SWRO Train and a SeaSMART SWRO Train). Installation and commissioning risks are mitigated thanks to minimized field assembly: our design is optimized for less welding on site, it is preassembled and tested in factory prior to shipment. High quality will minimize field rework and the associated schedule delays and costs. The SeaSMART building blocks as well as the critical components are containerized to facilitate rapid and low cost shipment. Alloy pumps The high pressure RO and RO boost pumps materials of construction are designed for energy efficiency and long operating life cycles and incorporate SUEZ s best practices for pump supply for high pressure SWRO. Built in ASTM 895 5A Super Duplex material, for longevity and durability in seawater conditions. Alloy fittings and valves Selection of a series of robust models. High pressure valves are 600# ANSI, Duplex material valves, while low pressure valves are 150# ANSI Class, nylon coated ductile iron valves. Spool piping Standard supply for alloy piping is Super Duplex Alloy providing long life and stable operation. For less stringent application, the alloy can easily be substituted to meet your specification and optimize cost. FRP, Polypropylene, and PVC pipe are used on the low-pressure process streams. With field proven performance the material has been selected to optimize cost and space requirements. Energy recovery - State of the art energy recovery using ERI pressure PX Pressure exchangers (PX 260 were selected). Instrumentation and control system Designed for efficient and safer operation, the instruments and controls have been designed with the operator in mind. Using GE Fanuc 1 controllers, the design is structured to provide easy integration into overall plant operations and Scada s. It also features FMEA (Failure Mode Element Analysis) Reviews, HAZOP Reviews and ISO Reviews by SUEZ Principal Engineers to ensure proper operation and alarms to critical events happen. It was designed for ease of accessibility. Instruments typically have use Hastalloy, 254SMO, and Urethane on the wetted surfaces for high salt application.
