Sustainability Packaging as a part of the total Supply Chain Evaluation of a defined packaging in terms of Carbon-Footprint and other environmental impacts within the supply chain: Life Cycle Assessments and environmental estimations with professional software tools in conformity with international standards for raw materials and products Global Protocol on Packaging Sustainability GPPS 2.0 These studies support the achievement of our objectives on corporate level and our efforts to develop more sustainable products (benchmarking of raw materials, product specifications and processes). Sustainability Packaging as a part of the total Supply Chain Illustrative result of a Life Cycle Assessment impact of packaging Page 15 4. EPD Tagung / 21.10.2014
Sustainability Packaging as a part of the total Supply Chain Life Cycle Assessments show Packaging - in the investigated cases - is a minor contributor to the environmental impacts of the whole supply chain. The production of the packed goods basically turns out to contribute with higher consumption of resources and a bigger environmental impact. Packaging saves more resources than it consumes by protecting the content and avoiding waste through appropriate portioning and clear labelling. Nevertheless, Constantia Flexibles is well aware of its role and responsibility in the supply chain and we strive for continuously improving the performance of our products relating to sustainable issues.
