PROPER APPLICATION OF SAFETY LABELS NEW PRODUCT SAFETY LABEL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS 1) Surface area should be ground clean 2) Primer and paint should be dry before applying labels 3) Measure and locate labels on product as shown in Section 4 4) Area should be wiped clean using a damp towel to remove any dust or overspray, then wiped dry using a clean dry towel 5) Place labels squarely on product and wipe as needed to remove any trapped air from under label 6) Labels may take up to 24 hours to fully cure depending on atmospheric conditions REPLACEMENT SAFETY LABEL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS (Safety labels must be replaced if missing, or illegible) 1) Area to which label is to be applied should be flat and free from dents and ridges 2) Measure and locate labels on product as shown in Section 4. Labels may be moved slightly based on surface condition of existing products 3) Surface area should be ground clean 4) Primer and paint should be dry before applying labels 5) Area should be wiped clean using a damp towel to remove any dust or overspray, then wiped dry using a clean dry towel. 6) Place labels squarely on product and wipe as needed to remove any trapped air from under label. 7) Labels may take up to 24 hours to fully cure depending on atmospheric conditions Page 5 of 25

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES, QUALITY CONTROL, AND VERIFICATION DOCUMENTATION a) Safety labels will be created and updated by the Product Safety Label Committee in accordance with latest ANSI Standards; and provided to Purchasing Department for bulk purchase. b) All labels will have their own part numbers indicated on the label, before it is added to the Bill of Materials. c) Engineering Department will be responsible to adding label part numbers to Bill of Materials. d) Shop areas places labels as dictated by the Policy & Procedures Manual for Product Safety Signs, Labels and Placement Guidelines. e) After labels are installed, person placing labels will sign off on the Quality Control Traveler and return to Engineering Department. f) Engineering Department will file the Quality Control Traveler by serial number (hard copy and PDF); and check off on Serial Number Spreadsheet that it has been filed.
