Job Description Job Title: GDPR Project Manager Hours: 35 hours per week Responsible To: Director of Finance & Corporate Services Works With/Key Contact: Fundraising, Marketing, Operations, Communications, Finance & Corporate Services, Human Resources/ Learning & Development, CEO & CEO Office, External agencies and suppliers Location: London Duration: 9-month Fixed Term Contract Responsible For: N/A Salary: 48,000 per annum pro rata Context and Background Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of our help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society. We currently operate from three centres in Battersea London, Old Windsor in Berkshire, and Brands Hatch in Kent. Every year, we care for over 7,000 dogs and cats. Main Purpose of the Role To provide expertise, guidance and project leadership on data protection and General Data Protection Regulation compliance for all departments, and to lead the Home towards full compliance by April 2018. Overall Objectives Work collaboratively with all departments to create and deliver a Home-wide project plan to lead the Home towards GDPR compliance Manage the implementation of new procedures and data management policies Promote data protection awareness and understanding across the Home.
Responsibilities Approx. % of time Develop and deliver a Home-wide compliance action plan 20% Work across multi-disciplinary teams to co-ordinate approaches to compliance, including privacy notices, data subject rights, and purposes for lawful processing Co-ordinate and deliver audits and reviews of existing data systems and processes 10% Develop new policies and procedures to comply with GDPR 10% 10% Project manage the implementation of Home-wide changes to data systems and processes, including a unified approach to consent, data capture, data storage and sharing Develop and deliver documentation templates including Privacy Impact Assessments and Balancing Exercises Work with the Learning & Development team to implement appropriate training across the organisation 20% 10% 5% Lead the Data Protection Steering Group 5% Liaise with third party legal advisers and consultants to recommend and implement best practice Co-ordinate teams to review data sharing policies and contracts 5% 5% The above job description is intended to be an outline of the duties and responsibilities for this role.
