E V E R L I N K I N T R O D U C E S I N T E R A C F L A S H Everlink prides itself in bringing its customers the most advanced, secure and cost effective payment technologies available. Interac Flash is a new contactless enhancement of Interac chip debit cards that make every day small value purchases faster and more convenient for both merchants and consumers alike. Issuer Value Proposition By supporting Interac Flash, your cardholders and merchants will be able to participate in a more convenient check-out experience. Merchants will be able to serve customers quicker and reduce costs while cardholders will love the convenience of not having to handle cash and coins. Business Decision Drivers: Revenues Incremental transaction volumes from cash displacement Strategic card positioning - Acquisition and retention opportunities - Amended customer banking plans - Market moving towards contactless - Cardholder stickiness / retention - Consumer demand grows as behavior increases Contactless Policy Decisions For Issuers: On/Off Contactless Interface Online Funds Authorization Only No PIN required / No Cashback Permitted Per Transaction Contactless Spend Limit Card Total Contactless Spend Limit Account Pre-Selection Canadian Dollars only Fraud mitigation Pinless transactions remove card data capture - Fraud savings from removing PIN at QSR and similar high risk POS

U N S U R P A S S E D T R U S T A n d Co n s u m e r Acce p ta n ce Interac Debit is the most widely accepted form of payment in Canada with over 450,000 Interac Debit enabled merchants utilizing in excess of 766,000 payment terminals. Interac Debit payments continue to grow and now total over $182 billion per year. How It Works Interac chip debit cards that are enabled with Interac Flash will have this symbol on the front of the card, as will point-of-sale terminals and card readers that accept them. The cardholder s chip debit card is equipped with a dual-interface microchip that is capable of both a regular contact chip Interac Debit transaction requiring a PIN as well as Interac Flash contactless transactions. There are two steps to doing an Interac Flash transaction: STEP1 The cardholder flashes their debit card by placing it in front of a contactless terminal or card reader. STEP2 There should be a flash from the lights on the terminal or reader and beep and/or an approved message on the terminal to confirm that your transaction is complete. It s that simple. INTERAC FLASH INSTEAD OF CASH... IT S LIKE BEING READY WITH EXACT CHANGE EVERYTIME!

S P E N D I N G L I M I T S The $ amount transaction limits are set by the financial institution. Typically $50 for small purchases while gas and groceries might have a limit of $100. There may also be a cumulative spend limit of, for example $200. If the $ amount transaction limit or cumulative spend limits are reached/ exceeded, cardholders will be asked to insert the card and enter their PIN. When making purchases above your Interac Flash spending limits, or when shopping at merchants who do not have Interac Flash enabled terminals, you simply insert your card to do a regular Interac Debit transaction. As with other contactless, no signature or PIN required transactions, Interac Flash has spending parameters to safeguard both merchants and the customer. Contactless Objectives Grow transaction volumes by capturing the cash market for low value transactions. This is a $90 billion opportunity = 12 billion transactions per year. Debit is natural alternative to cash. Cash = Contactless = Debit. Aligns with the Association s existing core debit service and Interac brand attributes - Canada s everyday way to pay. Enable POS debit transactions using: - The contact or contactless feature on an Interac branded debit card. - A contactless feature on a mobile device.

I N C R E A S E Y O U R C o m p e t i t i v e A d v a n t a g e By offering your retail banking and merchant customers the fast, convenient and secure Interac Flash option, you can compete with all major financial institutions and card Issuers and profit through improved customer retention and revenue streams.
