INNOVATION FOR WORK ENVIRONMENTS + 3F Sound Lux is a luminaire that has been developed to offer innovative lighting in work environments. It is the result of the combination of various materials and lighting technology excellence. The lighting fixture is made up of an acoustic panel covered by a micro-perforated laminate and is fitted with a LED light source that emits a white light (3000 K). This luminaire has been designed to provide the best visual and acoustic comfort, making the work areas more comfortable. The 3F Sound Lux is designed in a variety of finishes so that it can be integrated seamlessly into the environment. It can be either suspended or ceiling mounted. Its modular design also makes it particularly versatile and allows it to be easily reconfigured to the environment. It can be readily adapted if the furniture in the work areas is rearranged. 3F Sound Lux was developed together with Mascagni S.p.A., an Italian brand of excellence in the design and manufacture of office furnishings. The collaboration started by integrating 3F Filippi s lighting expertise with Mascagni s vast experience and design capabilities to create high-end professional furnishings. This high-profile technical partnership confirms 3F Filippi s determination to achieve the same outstanding results for work environments that it has already achieved globally in the industrial and retail lighting sectors.

NOISE. SILENCE. LIGHT. Meeting areas, meeting rooms and places created to share ideas are creative and meaningful spaces. Places where comfort blends with design and where many, often different, materials are combined. Places where sound often becomes an annoying noise and where silence seems a mirage. We created 3F Sound Lux to meet the needs of modern offices in which multifunctional furniture is increasingly used, that unites several useful functions in a single unit. The core of 3F Sound Lux is an acoustic panel, designed on the principle of the Helmholtz multiple resonator and the concept of sound absorption through polyester fibres. The acoustic panel was developed starting from aesthetic and production requirements (choice of design, physical limitations of the internal fibrous wadding, the coating and the operational aspects of the production cycle) and then perfecting the dimensions of the panels to improve their acoustic absorption capabilities. From the point of view of lighting, we have created a product that is very simple to install because it can easily be positioned, even within existing lighting system layouts. Its low level of glare also makes it a perfect product for the latest generation offices where mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones are increasingly used.

ACOUSTIC COMFORT A general approach is unsuitable when thinking rationally about the requirements of areas used by individuals or groups for work or leisure in which sound is an important factor when considering both comfort and productivity. Each place has its own characteristics, which can vary according to the number of people in it and the methods and materials with which it was built. Every place requires a specific solution: there are no constants that can be defined without prior verification. The careful analysis of an open plan area for example, has to start by examining the interactions between those who occupy the area and the way they work. Different jobs involve different levels of concentration and interaction. The careful and rational positioning of acoustic panels can make living areas comfortable again so that work becomes more productive and bad habits give way to coherent communication.
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE The acoustic performance of 3F Sound Lux panels has been measured in a reverberation chamber at the Giordano Institute (an internationally recognised certifying body). The results show that the panel has an exceptional acoustic absorption in voice frequency ranges. The panel has been certified as class A, the best among the categories defined in EN ISO 11654, in the speech spectrum in octave bands from 1000 to 4000 Hz. The 3F Sound Lux acoustic panel covers a range of frequencies from 500 to 5000 Hz, with exceptional results in the range from 1000 to 1250 Hz where it reaches a value of 99%. The technology and the materials used guarantee that the acoustic panels have a Class 1 Fire Resistance (ref. B S2 d0 certification with reference to European standard EN13501-1). pain threshold absorption level music speech Hz

Starting from the waste of energy, which is eliminated by the special lenses fitted to the LEDs, which are designed and produced entirely by 3F Filippi and which can achieve a light source efficiency of up to 97% (a value that brings this luminaire to the top of its category). These lenses also have a significant effect on the visual comfort provided by the light fixture. When installed on a desk, 3F Sound Lux prevents annoying reflections on computer screens and mobile devices; and it doesn t produce any glare that could be annoying to colleagues sitting at other workstations. Dimmable DALI wiring also enhances its ease of use. Power can be adjusted to suit requirements by means of an external connection or it can be automated.
