Job Description Director of Investments Reporting to: Chief Executive Responsible for: Directly managing three positions that are to be recruited in 2016: Treasury and Investments Administrator Credit Systems Developer Investment Analyst The post holder will work in close liaison with the Finance and Administration Director, and Project Development Director. Role overview: The primary purpose of this role is to build Reall s investment platform, its management capability and reputation, and to grow its current assets and portfolio of funds to sustain network growth and impact. We are at a pivotal point in our evolution, with the potential for exponential growth. The successful candidate will need to be a strategic thinker, with an entrepreneurial mind- set and a high tolerance for risk, as well as being adaptable and able to deal with ambiguity and change. Other: The post holder will be part of the Executive Team. Key responsibilities: 1. Strategy Provide financial models for forecasting/testing the robustness of Reall s investment strategy 2. Treasury Manage Reall s treasury to ensure capital adequacy Monitor/manage risks

Investment Devise investment strategies to achieve Reall s strategic objectives Undertake due diligence of existing and new partner organisations Monitor the performance of loans and investments Analyse investments Managing investor relationships (including reporting) 4. Development Develop processes and data systems to enable effective analysis, estimation and decision- making Refine existing investment facilities and developing new where required 5. Fundraising Develop new investment products Support marketing initiatives to secure new investment Work closely with the Director of Business Development to support fundraising activities 6. Leadership Develop and inspire a team to implement the strategy and to achieve objectives and targets Ensure all team members represent Reall in the best light Mentor staff to ensure personal and organisational development Additional expectations: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Reall s services and products Participate in strategy reviews, strategy development, and the operationalisation thereof Serve cross- functionally in the execution of programmes and projects Carry out such other reasonable duties as may be required by the Chief Executive Changes to responsibilities: The Chief Executive may amend responsibilities from time to time in line with an evolving organisational strategy, structure and roles Compliance: Observe the letter and spirit of Reall s Staff Policy Manual Adhere to Reall s Development Principles Adhere to the requirements of Reall s Intellectual Property Policy and relevant Data Protection legislation At all times to work in a manner that ensures the health and safety of the post- holder, other staff, colleagues and visitors to Reall s premises Other requirements: The post is based in Coventry, and involves travel both within the UK and internationally The post- holder will work as part of a team where constructive co- operation and communication are of particular importance

Person Specification Director of Investments Education: Preferable: Qualifications in business studies, fund management, statistics, finance, mathematics, accounting or economics MBA or similar advanced degree in a related field Financial Services Authority registration/accreditation Experience: Preferable: Consolidated experience in Investment Management, Treasury Management or senior Investment Analyst role Experience in real estate investment Experience in frontier markets Impact investment/social enterprise experience Experience in dealing with multiple currencies/developing country currencies Key competencies Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of the alternative finance market Extensive existing personal networks of key early stage investors Experience in structuring equity and debt financing deals Demonstrable experience in both the demand and supply of business finance and investment Skilled influencer and persuader who challenges in an objective way; strong negotiation skills and ability to say no diplomatically where required Excellent financial modelling skills A practical approach to problem- solving, and the ability to make clear and concise decisions An excellent presenter who is confident in pitching at a Board level.
