If you re already reading this then you re just excited as we are about the launch of our exciting new graduate internship programme that gives recent graduates the much needed foot in the door to the wonderful world of charities. We are a youth employability charity that exists to harness the leadership potential of a diverse group of young people, providing them with opportunities to increase their employability and in turn get their foot in the door of top employers. The Graduate Internship Programme (GIP for short) is a 12-month programme that will literally change your life! Yes - literally. How it Works PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT QUARTERLY ROTATION LEADERSHIP We are passionate about ensuring that you get the most out of your time with us and build a portfolio of learning, new skills and experiences. You will be given real work and work on real projects. At the start of the programme you will be given a full induction and a personal development plan that will be regularly reviewed at the end of each quarter. In addition you will receive regular training opportunities and be given a mentor to provide additional support and career advice. At the start of every quarter you will set project objectives and expectations with a review and evaluation at the end of each quarter. Each rotation will offer you the unique opportunity to work on the project planning, delivery and evaluation of different projects, whilst understanding how our charity operates and how each programme we run feeds into us achieving the bigger picture. This is an intensive leadership programme that will stretch and challenge you in all the right ways. You will be given real work and work on real projects. You will be given real responsibility that will increase your ability to compete in the labour market. 4
Who we are looking for Programme Officer ESSENTIAL PERSON SPECIFICATION Degree or relevant equivalent training/experience Understanding of EN and the programmes we deliver Commitment to EN s mission, vision and values Commitment to equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion An ability to inspire, support and communicate with a diverse range of young people Good team player with good interpersonal skills Able to adapt to a fast paced, working environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Potential to learn from the internship and intent to complete the full 12 months Excellent personal organisation skills, particularly time management and prioritisation skills Ability to represent Elevation Networks externally Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Experience of participating in a campaigning or voluntary group Experience of organising an event or project Ability to analyse and interpret complex information effectively and target communication to different audiences A flexible, adaptable and organised approach to work, exercising initiative and working independently as appropriate DESIRABLE Experience of working with a diverse range of young people Experience using WordPress/editing blogs Good eye for design (preferably with experience in designing materials using desktop publishing software) Role: Programme Officer Contract Type: Fixed term 1 July 2015-27 June 2016 Salary: London Living Wage Rate Hours: 35 hours per week, with occasional, evening, weekend and residential working depending on your rotation. Location: London Holiday: 28 days per annum (inclusive of bank holidays) Probation Period: 3 months ROLE SUMMARY: The successful candidate will share our vision, our values, and most importantly our mission. As an intern, your responsibilities will vary depending on the project you are working on and which of the departments you are working in. You will be working with our continuously growing team in our main office in Farringdon, London. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will vary significantly as they progress through the programme. It is important to note that the key duties outlined in job description only serves as a guideline. With a fast-growing organisation like Elevation Networks, roles are subject to change in order to meet new priorities. Our ideal candidate has to be flexible and adaptable to a variety of roles.
