SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES 2017 APPLICATION PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS All applicants are required to go through our interview process. Applications are due back at the Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices by Friday, February 24th, or post marked by Friday, February 24th. Any applications received after this date will not be considered for our first round of hires. In the event that a second hiring process is needed, applicants who turned in an application after February 24th will be contacted at that time. Not all applicants will receive an interview. Applicants will receive an email either selecting them to be brought in for an interview, or stating that we have brought in more qualified individuals. If an applicant is selected to be brought in, the email will contain a link to a website where the applicant is able to sign up for an interview date and time. Interviews will be held in early to mid March. Upon hiring, all applicants will be required to undergo a drug test, state and federal background checks, a child abuse clearance check, and complete mandated reporter training. Applicants must successfully pass all checks in order to complete the hiring process. The Township covers the cost of the clearances. Applicants must also attend C.P.R. / A.E.D. and First Aid training, which is offered through the Township, if they are not already certified. Please see the descriptions below for the summer camp positions that we are currently accepting applications for. CAMP SUPERVISOR 18 or Older Starts at $10.00/hr ; adjusted according to exp. Applicants should have some experience working or volunteering at a camp. Applicants must also have experience working with children, be dependable, enthusiastic, with excellent customer service, communication, and managerial skills. Camp Supervisors oversee everyday camp operations including, but not limited to: managing camp staff, developing events & activities, and ensuring the safety and accountability of all individuals involved. CAMP COUNSELOR 15 or Older (must be 18+ for Teen Camp) Starts at $7.25/hr ; adjusted according to exp. Applicants should have some experience working or volunteering at a camp. Applicants must also have experience working with children, be dependable, enthusiastic, with excellent customer service skills. Camp Counselors will be assigned to one of our three camps. Cedar Grove (5&6 year olds) Miles Park (6-11), or Teen Camp (12-15). All camps run. Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 7 of the 9 camp weeks to be considered. SUPPORT STAFF (C.I.T.) PROGRAM 15 or Older (must be 18+ for Teen Camp) Starts at $7.25/hr ; adjusted according to exp. 14 or Older This is an unpaid position, but hours can be logged as volunteer hours. Applicants should have some work experience, preferably with children. Applicants should be dependable, enthusiastic, and have excellent customer service skills. Applicants must be versatile and able to work in varying camp settings. The support staff position will be used to fill in for camp counselors as needed throughout the summer. Candidates 18 years and older will also be eligible to substitute at Teen Camp. This position is for interested applicants who wish to become a camp counselor in the near future. This program will teach applicants the functions & job duties of a camp counselor while volunteering in our camp system. Applicants will work side by side with our camp staff performing the same job duties. Applicants should be dependable, enthusiastic, and have good customer service skills.
