Introducing the ORCA Green Machine Organic Refuse Conversion Alternative

As resources dwindle and the climate changes, we re all looking for ways to become more environmentally responsible. At Totally Green, we re committed to helping our planet and your organization stay green.

How does the ORCA work? Totally Green s ORCA Green Machine uses the same principles as outdoor composting but it works much, much faster. Add food waste. Water is periodically added to keep the waste moist. The waste is turned consistently. But unlike a regular compost pile, the end result is a nutrientrich water effluent that can be put into the sewer or even reused for irrigation, and it happens in 24 hours instead of several months. So what s the secret to the ORCA? The ORCA significantly accelerates the breakdown of food waste by using our proprietary ORCA Micro-Organism Solution and ORCA Bio Chips. By providing the perfect combination of environmental factors and micro-organisms, the degradation process happens literally overnight.

It sounds like science fiction. But it s science fact. The millions of micro-organisms sprayed into the machine daily are just hungry little critters with a really big appetite. They make their home in the ORCA s Proprietary Bio Chips and eat the food in the machine. By constantly multiplying and eating, they break down the food waste within 24 hours in most cases. The food waste isn t just mulched it s degraded to such a finite level it becomes liquid and can only exit the machine through a mesh screen with a.04 inch opening. The ORCA s Proprietary Micro-Organisms are harmless they re all-natural and found everywhere in our environment. They eat and digest the food in the ORCA the same way they do in nature. We just found a way to harvest and utilize them, and gave them the perfect environment for them to do their job quickly. Orca Bio Chips Mesh Screen

Why Choose the ORCA? There are plenty of reasons the ORCA just makes good sense for your organization -- Environmental Economical Positive Public Relations And many more

Environmental Of the 350 billion lbs. of food available in the U.S. this year, 28% will be wasted -- that s 98 billion lbs. of food thrown away each year. All that food waste isn t dangerous in itself, but the anaerobic decomposition that occurs in landfills produces Methane Gas. Methane is a dangerous Greenhouse Gas -- it traps heat in Earth s atmosphere at a level 21 times higher than that of Carbon Dioxide, making it a major factor in global climate change. By adding an ORCA to your operation you ll help reduce the billions of pounds of food sent to landfills annually, as well as the Methane Gas created by it. Consider this: Studies show 1 ton of food waste can produce 500 cubic yards of methane gas. Our OG 1200 ORCA Green Machine can process 438,000 lbs. of food waste each year, eliminating it from landfills. In turn, that helps prevent 109,500 cubic yards of methane gas from entering our atmosphere.

Economic The ORCA is good for the environment and good for your bottom line. Food waste is a problem a very expensive problem. Fewer landfills, rising landfill maintenance costs and increasing fuel prices all mean higher collection and disposal rates. America spends $1 billion annually to haul away food waste, and the price just keeps going up. Having an ORCA significantly reduces the amount of food waste your organization pays to haul off. An ORCA typically generates an ROI of 2-3 years. Your salesperson will be happy to help you calculate the estimated ROI for your business.

Positive Public Relations Eco-friendly, environmental stewardship, sustainability practices, zero carbon footprint It s good to be green. When organizations announce they re thinking about the planet s future, it makes headlines. And consumers respond with their pocketbooks. Nearly 90% of shoppers consider the health and environmental impact of products when deciding what to buy, according to Consumer Reports. In a recent survey of U.S. consumers by WPP Green Brands, 73% responded that it is important to buy from green companies.

Other Reasons Government mandates New legislation in the U.S. requires every federal office must assign a Sustainability Officer and report to the Council on Environmental Quality. The GSA has announced their goal of achieving a Zero Carbon Footprint by 2020. Many states including California and Oregon continue to enact increasingly stringent waste sorting and recycling laws. Stored food waste smells bad and it attracts bugs and rodents. The ORCA eliminates this problem. Qualifies for LEED points.

ORCA Operation The ORCA is very simple to operate. One button ON/OFF operation. Open the door to add food waste. Food can be added continuously as long as there is room. An automatic system sprays micro-organisms into the ORCA machine daily. Only minor maintenance required.

The ORCA s Gray Water The ORCA s only significant by-product is a water effluent. The water is nutrient-filled, representative of the food waste placed in the machine. On average, an ORCA Green Machine uses approximately 175 gallons of water per day, and generates approximately 300 gallons of water per day. This represents a very minor amount of the total average sewage usage from a building on a daily basis. The effluent BOD, TSS and FOG levels will vary depending on the waste added to the machine. We recommend adding a grease trap to the outflow if significant amounts of fatty waste will be placed in the ORCA.
