Masdar: The Renewable Energy Desalination Pilot Plants MASDAR RE & SW DESALINATION PROGRAM TARGETS More energy efficient technologies that can be powered by 100% renewable energy sources Technologies that are reliable, robust, bankable, and suitable for UAE seawater and environmental conditions Innovative solutions for potential use in the UAE on an industrial scale SUEZ: INNOVATIVE PILOTS The project covers the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and evaluation of 2 pilot plants, over a period of 18 months. In the 1 st pilot SUEZ s plant reaches the potable water production of 100m 3 per day with the last generation of the Reverse osmosis technologies. Target of reducing the energy consumption of this experimented technology by around 10%. 10 I SUEZ has included a second pilot to test a breakthrough technology in desalination able to increase the overall permeate production using the bine as water source.
