MISC Berhad ( MISC ), a world leading energy related maritime solutions and services provider today held the naming and delivery ceremony of its new LNG carrier, Seri Cenderawasih. The 150,200 CBM Liquefied Natural Gas ( LNG ) carrier is the second in a series of five MOSS-Type LNG carriers ordered from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. ( HHI ) by MISC. Upon their delivery, these new LNG Carriers will be on a long-term charter to PETRONAS. The naming ceremony was graced by the presence of Encik Md Arif Mahmood, Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer, Downstream Business of PETRONAS and was officiated by his wife and the vessel s Lady Sponsor, Puan Nazrin Aneeza Nazaruddin at the HHI Shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea. Seri Cenderawasih, along with its sister vessel, Seri Camellia that was launched last year in September, will be part of the new generation of the Seri C Class LNG fleet of MOSS-Type vessels. The MOSS-Type newbuilds are part of MISC s long term fleet expansion programme to cater to the energy transportation needs of PETRONAS. They have been designed for worldwide trading capability to enable them to call at all major LNG terminals in the world. These new vessels provide a more robust and superior cargo containment system and ensure a higher degree of operational flexibility for MISC to operate in harsh meteorological conditions. Encik Md Arif Mahmood said, The delivery of Seri Cenderawasih augurs well for PETRONAS long partnership with MISC. As one of the leading players in the global LNG business, it is imperative for PETRONAS to ensure that we deliver safe and reliable supply of energy to power hundreds of industries and millions of homes around the world. The partnership with MISC has enabled PETRONAS to attain our aspirations and I am confident that the addition of Seri Cenderawasih to its fleet will strengthen MISC s leadership position in the global LNG transportation business.

The Naming and Delivery Ceremony of Seri Cenderawasih on 20 January 2017 at the HHI Shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea Mr. Yee Yang Chien, President/Group CEO of MISC remarked, The naming and delivery of Seri Cenderawasih today marks another milestone for MISC in our journey towards sustainable LNG shipping and strengthening our leading position in the global LNG shipping business. MISC s fleet modernisation efforts ensure that we maintain our agility with a fleet of young vessels and enhance our capability to fulfill our customers evolving expectations. These new vessels incorporate best-in-class and eco-friendly technologies, reinforcing our commitment to operate responsibly and care for the maritime environment.

The new generation of LNG carriers incorporate state-of-the art technologies in various forms including the Integrated Hull Structure (IHS) with four spherical tanks shielded by the continuous cover, which improves the overall structural strength of the hull. Additional green technology features adopted for these new carriers include energy efficiency, emissions reductions, biodiversity management and end-of-life disposal. These features also include the installation of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system for the diesel generator to comply with the latest IMO Tier III requirement and the Ozone Ballast Water Treatment System. The carriers will be powered by an Ultra Stream Turbine (UST) plant, and installed with pre-swirl duct and Propeller Boss Cap Fin (PBCF). The Seri Cenderawasih, MISC s Second MOSS-Type of LNG Carrier

Upon the completion of its naming ceremony today, Seri Cenderawasih will embark on its maiden voyage from South Korea to Bintulu, Malaysia. Her delivery brings the current number of MISC s LNG fleet to 27 vessels, further strengthening MISC s position as a reliable and safe transporter of LNG. The remaining three vessels that are currently under construction in South Korea will be completed on a staggered basis and delivered to MISC in due course. The naming and delivery ceremony today was attended by MISC s Chairman, Y. Bhg. Dato Ab. Halim Mohyiddin, MISC s President / Group CEO, Mr. Yee Yang Chien, the President & CEO of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) Mr. Hwan-Goo Kang as well as management and representatives from PETRONAS, MISC and HHI. Commemorative Photo with the MISC Management, Project Management Team and Vessel Crew
