General Information CONTENT Published in September, ISO 9001:2015 has a changed structure and significantly changed technical requirements. ISO 9001:2015 takes account of the latest policy of ISO as regards its management system standards (MSS) as well as recent developments in the area of quality management (QM) and risk management (RM). Explicit new topics are risk based thinking and QM system related knowledge. Another important change: the standard no longer requires a management representative, but instead requires, among other things, direct accountability by top management for the effectiveness of the QM system. Several other requirements in the 2008 edition have also been removed. SEMINAR OBJECTIVES The prime objective for this seminar is to provide attendees with information in detail about this major revision, so they understand and can implement the new and changed requirements. The information is accurate because our lecturer was intimately involved within the ISO committee in preparing the new edition. Special attention is given to the newly detailed requirements for risk based thinking for the management of conformity related risks and how this has developed from the present (often unrecognized) requirements in ISO 9001:2008. The seminar finishes with practical exercises (case studies), so that attendees learn how to apply the new requirements. After the seminar, attendees will be able to: start planning to meet the enhanced requirements of ISO 9001: 2015 correctly inform top management about its increased accountability for the QM system judge whether their present QM system meets the new requirements if needed, take immediate and appropriate action to achieve conformity discuss future certification to ISO 9001:2015 with their certification body ATTENDEES Please note: This seminar is not a beginners course in quality management. It is intended for experienced quality managers and management representatives (ISO 9001:2008, clause 5.5.2) who are already familiar with ISO 9001:2008 and its concepts and requirements, and who can thus easily judge the potential impact of the new and changed requirements on their present QM system. The seminar is also very suitable for members of senior management, internal QM auditors, as well as for staff involved with general risk management. Attendance at the seminar can also assist certification body staff and auditors to meet the increased accreditation requirements for auditing and certifying to ISO 9001:2015. Attendees will find it useful to bring along their personal copy of ISO 9001:2008 for comparison with the new and changed requirements in ISO 9001:2015. SEMINAR LECTURER Ian Campbell Uerikon, ZH Leader of the Swiss delegation of experts in ISO Technical Committee TC 176 during the development of ISO 9001:2015 Founding member of the Swiss Standards Committee NK 198 for Risk Management and member of the ISO experts group during the development of ISO 31000.
