Iran Horticulture Incoming Trade Mission to the Netherlands, December 3-7, 2017 1. PARNACO Consulting Mr. Alireza Heidari Khoobestan, Managing Director Parnaco ( Paya Ravesh Negareh) is a specialized and leading consulting company in Iran for greenhouses and high-tech horticulture. They are the first leading company in Iran for studies and design of the big greenhouse complexes. Parnaco consulting group has done a comprehensive study for mapping and zoning of greenhouse products in 17 provinces of Iran for the first time in Iran. This study includes suitability of producing vegetables and strawberries in different regions and finding the best location for each. -Development of cooperation between Iran and Netherlands in horticulture -Finding international investors and exporters for projects in Iran -Meeting innovative companies for new solutions in greenhouses and modern orchards - Meeting production advisors for fruits and vegetables - Visiting fruit trees greenhouses, such as cherry, grape, peach,... - Meeting technical consulting companies in greenhouse and horticulture His consulting role in Iran is his primary reason to join this mission. He has had many visits to the Netherlands including visiting as part of the Iranian Agricultural Ministers delegation in December 2016.

2. Agricultural Bank of Iran Mr. Nikkhah, Head of Credit and Investment As a specialized bank, the Agricultural bank of Iran was established over 80 years ago in order to finance and provide cheap loans both in the local currency and Euros for the agricultural sector in Iran. The bank has over 2000 branches all over the country which 700 of them are only specializing on agricultural projects. The agricultural bank of Iran serves as a finance reference for farmers to setup and develop the projects and plans. Food security and empowerment of women are two main policies which the bank is focusing on at the moment. - Introduction to new technologies in greenhouses production - Understanding the value chain in the Netherlands - Understanding the relation between the banks and farmers in the Netherlands - Negotiations with the Dutch banks Due to the shortage of water in Iran, loans for greenhouses have become the number one priority of the bank. Seeing Dutch technology first hand will help convince the bank to approve loans for purchasing equipment from Dutch companies with ease. 3. Agricultural Graduates Cooperative of Damavand Ms. Samira Asadollahi, Chairman of the Board Agricultural graduates cooperative of Damavand county, has been established in 1998 with 120 members who studied in a variety of different subject in the field of agriculture. This cooperative at the present has a 10 ha farm with 6 ha walnut orchard, grape and damask rose, also 7000 square meters cut flower rose greenhouse. -Visiting modern cut flower rose greenhouses -More understanding about rose standards for export -Understanding about Dutch rose growers that their production areas are in Kenya, Ethiopia, Colombia, etc. At this moment, the target of this cooperative is to construct a 4 ha cut flower rose greenhouse in their site in Damavand county. They want to creating jobs for agricultural graduates in Damavand county, especial for women. After completing this plan, they want to develop their activities by setup new projects in orchards and greenhouses.

4. Assodeh Sazan Company Mr. Sasan Faramarzi Kamrani, Managing Director The Assodeh Sazan Company is interested to build 37 ha of greenhouses near Kermanshah (towards the west of Iran) mostly for flower production but also for fruit. The products are to be exported to the countries in the region. The first phase of the project is 10 ha of greenhouses and Mr. Sasan Faramarzi Kamrani would also like to build cold storage facilities on his land. - Visiting companies which manufacture greenhouse structures - Companies active in cold storage. The fact that they will set up 37ha of new greenhouses near Kermanshah is their primary reason to participate. 5. Ideal Makoo Mr. Jafar Safarzadeh, Managing Director Mr. Mehdi Safarazadeh, Entrepreneur/Manager of Greenhouse Project Mr. Hossein Salehi, Investor interested in cooperating with the Safarzadeh family for the greenhouse project Mr. Safarzadeh is an entrepreneur formerly in medical sector and recently in the food sector and agriculture. They were the first producer of artificial teeth in Iran in 40 years ago and their products were exported many countries including some in the EU. -Visiting modern and robotic greenhouses for vegetables, flowers and berries - Visiting export terminals - Speaking to companies which are internationally active - Understanding how to producing organic crops inside the greenhouse They are interested in entering greenhouse production with 3 ha as a starting point. Their future plan is the development of greenhouse areas in order to increase their ability to export. For that reason they are looking towards new varieties and also modern packaging equipment. At present they have 40 ha land in Makoo free zone in North-west of Iran (Close to the Turkish border) and are farming cereal in winter and vegetables during summer in open field. There is also about 10 ha apricot trees in this farm.

6. National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran Orchard Owners Mr. Vahid Reza Abtahi, Managing Director They decide to develop their activities toward modern orchards and greenhouses. Their main activities are: -Trade of fruits in Iran and also for export -Planning for orchards in Iran -Close relationship with government and research institutes -Distribution of agricultural inputs to orchard owners -Training courses in fruit production for orchard owners and orchard workers -Visiting new technologies in greenhouses -Visiting modern intensive orchards -Finding international partners to develop the projects and activities - meeting organic fruit and vegetables producers -meeting the high level companies who support the projects technically National union of agricultural cooperatives of Iran orchard owners, is a cooperative in horticultural sector of Iran for orchard owners. This cooperative supports fruit producers to buying their products and provides agricultural inputs. This cooperative has also an advisor role for fruit producers. 7. Radison Co. Ms. Elahe Ostadi, Chairman of the Board Radison Co. has been active in greenhouse production since 2008 in Iran, Georgia and Russia. The products include vegetables such as paprika, eggplants, tomatoes, etc. Radison Co. has been active in the greenhouse production in Iran for almost 10 years.

8. Rojin Taak Company Mr. Seyed Mozafar Abdollah, Managing Director Mr. Hamidreza Jahangiri, CEO of Dashte sabz Gharb Mr. Seyyed Alireza Alipour Yazdi, Business Development Advisor Rojin Taak is active in both the production and processing of vegetables most notably tomatoes. The company has 24 ha of land in the province of Kermanshah as well as renting/contracts with famers of 5000 ha of open field land in the province which it uses to produce tomatoes. It also has 11 ha of industrial zone for its factory (largest in the Middle East). -Visiting tomato nursery greenhouses -Understanding production of tomato young plants in greenhouses -Seeing different varieties tomato Currently they are interested in establishing a 2.5 ha tomato young plant greenhouse as the first step to produce healthy young plants. These young plants will be distributed throughout their lands for Tomato production. Their next target will be developing their greenhouses and producing hybrid vegetable seed through a Dutch partner. The company has previously had some contacts with Dutch firms but no contracts have been signed. 9. Rosemond Holding Group Mr. Ghasem Golnejad, Chairman Rosemond Holding Group is a holding company in the fields of Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy & Biotech industries involved in a wide variety and comprehensive range of Engineering and Management activities of the projects as well as consultancy & performance of Investment in relevant profitable plans. Rosemond group is active in a variety of fields such as biotechnology, micro algae, marine, water and infrastructure projects. -Meeting new technologies in horticulture -Visiting modern greenhouses -Visiting microalgae cultivation site and technology -Meeting consulting and technology companies in microalgae The company is already active in many locations in Iran and currently are looking to establish several modern greenhouse complexes. Their goal is to build 100 ha of greenhouses around the country but at the first phase they will start with a 5 ha greenhouse.

10. Mr. Jafar Aghili, Producer and Greenhouse Owner Background of Mr. Aghili is in agronomy B.S. He is a citrus and tangerine producer in Golestan province in North of Iran, near the Caspian sea. He maintains high quality orchards with excellent quality citrus and tangerines. He wants to establish 7.5 modern hydroponic greenhouse project for vegetables in order to export to CIS countries. -Visiting tomato, paprika, eggplant, lettuce, melon and zucchini greenhouses -Understanding the trade of vegetables in the Netherlands -Visiting sorting/grading/packaging systems for vegetables Due to weather changes and lack of water, Mr. Aghili has decided to shift his production to Greenhouses. He is planning to build 7 ha of greenhouses for the production of herbal plants, flowers and vegetables. He has not been in touch with Dutch businesses before. 11. Mr. Farhad Hajbabaei, Greenhouse Owner Mr. Hajbabaei is an entrepreneur with a bachelor s degree in chemical engineering and masters in Management. He has invested in various fields. - Visiting different greenhouse technologies for flowers production -Understanding business and trading of flowers in Holland -Cooperation with Dutch companies for own project His latest investment will eventually be 5 ha of greenhouses for flower production near Varamin. At the first stage, he will build 1 ha of greenhouse using Dutch technology. He has had no previous contact with Dutch firms. 12. Mr. Nematollah Hajbabaei, Entrepreneur and Investor Mr. Hajbabaei has studied management and owns the biggest poultry farm in the west of the country. Since 5 years ago he has started the production of vegetables in his greenhouses near the city of Hamedan, Iran. He currently produces high quality vegetables and exports to a variety of markets such as Russia. - Visiting high tech greenhouses - Seeing the Dutch packaging technology He is interested in expanding his greenhouses and is looking to see high tech greenhouses as well as packaging technology in the Netherlands.

13. Mr. Mohammad Kiani, Managing Director The main office of Kian group is located in Iran with activities and projects in Iraq, Kurdistan eghlim, Soleymaniyeh, Georgia and north Ossetia for cultivation and export of greenhouse products. This company is managing a 5 ha greenhouse in Hamedan province which produces tomato, cucumber, paprika and flowers. -Visiting modern greenhouses -Looking for introduction to latest Dutch technology in horticulture -Meeting producers of seed, fertilizer and pesticide At the moment he is interested in setting up modern greenhouses on 25 ha of land near the city of Hamedan. He has started negotiations with the Agricultural bank and has also obtained private investment for the greenhouses. 14. Mr. Hassan Maghsudlu, Producer and Greenhouse Owner Mr. Maghsudlu has a B.S. in Agronomy. He is a top level producer in soybean, wheat, potato and vegetables in the open field. He has 35 ha farm in Golestan province in the North of Iran (Caspian Sea region). He has decided to create modern intensive orchards along with a modern greenhouse for phalaenopsis young plants through tissue culture to support local market. Part of his plan for the near future includes vegetables seed production inside greenhouses and open field. - Visiting tomato and paprika greenhouses - Meeting the latest findings in production of tomato and paprika (production management, yield, water consumption, biological control, etc.) - Finding a joint-venture for phalaenopsis young plants production - Meeting breeding companies for vegetables seeds and finding a jointventure for producing vegetables seeds under their licence to local market. Mr. Maghsudlu is looking to establish modern greenhouses on his land in the Golestan Province of Iran. His final goal is to establish 20 ha of greenhouses for the production of flowers and vegetables. He has not had any contact with Dutch companies and this will be the first time he will meet Dutch greenhouse technology.

15. Mr. Mahdi Nourisefat, Grower and Greenhouse Owner He has 10 years experience as a greenhouse vegetables producer in South of Tehran. Recently he decided to establish 4500 square meters of modern greenhouse for rose cut flowers. The land is 1.2 ha and his next plan will be the setup an another greenhouse in 4500 square meters for the production of Orchids. - Visiting rose and orchids greenhouses - Looking for a Dutch greenhouse builders and Dutch technology for construction of the project Mr. Nourisefat is currently producing vegetables in his greenhouses and would like to expand into flower production. The financing for building the new greenhouses has been secured and he is currently in the process of designing the greenhouses. First phase will be 4.5 ha greenhouse for the production of Roses and Orchids in the South of Tehran. Mr. Nourisefat has not previously had any contact with Dutch firms. 16. Mr. Alireza Rahmatian, Managing Director Mr. Rahmatian is educated in agronomy. He is a top level producer in citrus and rice and also he is one of the propagator of citrus young trees in Mazandaran province in North of Iran (Caspian Sea region). This company has 100 ha farm in Mazandaran province with activities in production of citrus, rice, aquaculture, citrus young trees and also sorting and packaging of citrus. - Visiting modern greenhouses - Visiting greenhouses of citrus or fruits young trees - Visiting fruits sorting, grading and packaging centre Mr. Rahmatian is interested in setting up 3.5 ha of greenhouses for the production of high quality seedlings in Mazandaran province. He has not had any contact with Dutch firms before.

17. Mr. Bahram Salehi Nezamabadi, Greenhouse Owner Mr. Salehi Nezamabadi is an entrepreneur who has entered the flower production sector. He is a key player in his region and has a role as greenhouse constructor for structure and supplying equipment for another growers and greenhouse projects. - Looking for Dutch greenhouse companies - Visiting modern greenhouses Mr. Salehi Nezamabadi has built 1.5 ha of greenhouse structure which he would like to increase to 5 ha eventually. So far the structure of the greenhouse has been installed and he is looking to find the best offer for the equipment for his greenhouse. He is also searching to find the best flower variety to produce in his greenhouse. He has not had any contact with Dutch firms before.
