Expected Changes in Ports and Airports The expectation of a high number of visitors during World Cup 2014 might affect the access to ports and airports. PORTS DHL is working with anticipation regarding carriers deadline; DHL is doing a careful analise of the volume forecasted for the period and redesigning the operation in order to ensure the shipment of our customers, regardless of the excessive traffic on the roads during the period; Recommendation of alternative ports of the host cities; DHL offer as an alternative, when requested, the service Pre-stacking. AIRPORTS DHL recommends customers, whenever possible, to anticipate critical shipments in order to be able to develop an action plan with our partners, eliminating any risk involved; Daily monitoring of sector information in order to allow us a quick operational action when necessary; Even with the increasing number of passengers during the period, we expect that the airfreight capacity will be maintained. 7
Action Plan DHL Global Forwarding DHL created an internal dedicated team of 23 people, representing all areas of the company with the mission to evaluate possible risks in cargo transportation during the World Cup. After this analysis, an action plan for each possible situation were developed, in order to minimize operational impact. Other focus of this work is to maintain constant communication to our customers. DHL understands that each client has a scope of work and a different need. Therefore, for this period, we worked focused on each specific demand delivering the best solution; such as: pre-booking for certain shipments. To ensure that our customer continue to be served with the same excellence as ever, we developed work scales for our employees, encourage solidary rides and home office for the days of major local traffic. To keep our customer updated with government information, we started monitoring government agencies regarding relevant issues. Weekly communication are sent to our customers. 8
Operational Maintenance DHL Global Forwarding Meet a few exclusive actions developed by our operational team! Siscarga and Mantra Systems We develop different work scales for our employees, home office shifts, work scales with suppliers, and in addition we also are constant monitoring the operational flow from airlines, shipping lines, carriers, and terminals in general. Stuffing and Un-stuffing Warehouse Knowledge of scales and times, frequent communication with customers and anticipation of documentation and information, if necessary. Regular checking on client s scheduling for specific actions, if needed. Cold Chain Transportation We will maintain a specialized team available to exchange the dry ice in case there is any slowdown during cargo clearance. Proposal of alternative routes to customers located near the stadiums. Follow up with governmental agencies, maintaining communication with clients and suppliers. 9
