History At the start of the 2004 Bond Program, the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee (CBAC) encouraged the District to consider an enhanced environmental focus for new facilities, additions and renovations. The CBAC developed a list of sustainability issues that would help the Austin Independent School District (AISD) improve: Energy Efficiency Indoor Environmental Quality Water Efficiency The Energy Water and Sustainability (EWaS) program was created to help attain the sustainability goals identified by the 2004 CBAC.

Who is EWaS?. Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems EWaS ACR Engineering, Inc. Studio D Consulting + Design

EWaS Mission Develop a Culture of Sustainability in the Austin ISD Community. Make Austin ISD s buildings more energy and water efficient. Deliver buildings and classrooms with healthy indoor environmental quality. Establish permanent, environmentally sustainable procedures and construction standards.
