Background Indonesia is the world s largest coconut producer (31% of global production) and fresh coconut exporter (33% of global fresh coconut export). Coconut is one of agriculture's superior products in Indonesia especially in areas with huge coconut plant potential in Flores NTT, Maluku & Papua, Java, Sulawesi, Sumatera and Kalimantan and the global and national demand for coconut products has been increasing since last decade, especially for products such as coconut oil, VCO, other nut product. PRISMA is a market-led agricultural systems approach to improve farmer practices, link farmers to input and output markets and improve the local business enabling environment in a systematic and sustainable way. It is expected that interventions aimed at improving the market system will lead to improving the income of 300,000 targeted poor farmers in Eastern Indonesia by at least 30 percent by program end.
