8 H I S T O R Y Dallai continues to pursue its traditional aim of customer satisfaction and innovation, partly thanks to the new application large-size B16 and B18 couplings and the new for smartphones and tablets that keeps customers up to date with what s new in the company. Today, the two company founders are joined by their sons Mirco and Fazio, who have brought fresh knowledge and energy into the business in order to guarantee on-going improvement. 50 D was B and 1959 saw the beginning of a business venture set to bring enormous satisfaction and impressive results. From their small workshop in Villarotta, Giuliano and Giancarlo moved in 1962 to Reggiolo, to a 300 sq.m. warehouse. In just four years, these premises doubled to 600 sq.m., reaching 1500 sq.m. during the decade that followed, before growing to 13 times the original size: 20,000 metres out of a total area of 50,000 sq.m., currently located in the industrial zone. The company was the first to install a photovoltaic system on the roof, which covers about a third of electrical energy consumption on workdays, allowing Dallai to sell the surplus produced on the other days back to the network. The boom years of the Sixties were a period of huge growth for the Italian economy, and Dallai was quick to grasp the opportunities offered, sharpening its specific manufacturing skills and gradually expanding them to the full range of quick couplings, supplying them to leading companies in the sector, first in Italy and then worldwide. The original type followed first by type A, the types C. During the Nineties came innovative products in galvanised steel, stainless steel and aluminium, with a more recent development being Polycrimp, used to connect metal pipes with polyethylene ones. 14 type D Dallai The first quick action coupling was produced in 1959 and it is fully interchangeable with all similar couplings manufactured in Italy. type D The range is made in steel, stainless steel and aluminum material and, according to particular needs, can be supplied with safety clamps. It is mainly used in the irrigation field and in several other applications such as drainage, sewage transportation, road construction, food and chemical industry. The Ø300 quick action coupling needs an additional leverage, separately provided for each accessory. Today, as a result of a continuous development, the Ø250 and Ø200 couplings are produced in a version similar to the Ø300 which is less cumbersome when employed under specific conditions. It is used for the transport of various substances such as sewage, sludge, dust, granular materials and finds application in several different the fields such as irrigation, road construction, drainage, civil projects. The type A coupling is used mainly in Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, USA and Canada. 15
16 type B type B The production of our couplings was started in the 70 s-80 s and is fully interchangeable with the Bauer fittings. At present, this range is made in steel, stainless steel and aluminum and the version with security system is usually provided. The Ø250 0301 Hook Ø a Type B Material: Steel Ø300 and Dallai s quick action couplings are a patent and require additional leverage, separately provided for each accessory. It is used in various applications such as irrigation, road construction, drainage, civil projects, bypass lines, in the food and chemical industry. The entire range is equipped with a safety lock system. It is used for the transport of various substances such as potable water, sewage, sludge, concrete, compressed air and finds application in the field of irrigation, drainage, civil projects, tunneling, in the food industry, mining, pharmaceuticals and also in the chemical industry. The type C quick action coupling is used mostly in Germany, Switzerland, Benelux, Eastern Europe and South Africa. 17

They are used mainly in the field of irrigation, for the construction of pipes, due to their low weight, they allow easy installation. By means of this characteristic they are used compressed in air systems, in undergrounds and mines service, and are also used for cleaning special equipment through the aspiration of dust and dirt.
