PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Global Shared Services Finance Transformation Director, (GSS FTD) works with the Partnership Leader (PL) of Financial Shared Services in working in a matrix relationship with the various Shared Service Centre Hubs (3-4), Support Offices, National Offices and other functional areas seeking to transform their finance and finance related processes. This Director would lead the various shared service project managers (PMs) and business analysts of this enterprise-wide effort critical to the success of WVI's Financial Shared Services transformation for the overall partnership. Over the next 12-24 months, he/she will develop a global team (2-3 managers and several project managers), leading through influence, providing leadership and direction to this team which will lead World Vision International on a global basis in finance transformation. The FTD is responsible for creating an environment in which problem identification and solving occur in an innovative and collaborative fashion. He/she is focused on deliverables and the customer, ensuring effective and efficient progress is made toward targets and goals, being financial and solution oriented. He/she will provide leadership for the finance transformation from influencing during the discussion phase, to development, implementation and overseeing a team to conduct the related training. This will be in the areas of finance process transformation improvement, standardisation and simplification of financial processes towards the development of best in class end-to-end financial processes. Key levers are standardisation, consolidation, automation, and process improvements to drive strengthened internal controls, customer service, cost and productivity improvement. To accomplish all this, the Director must have and develop a team with strength in both verbal and written communication, ability to work successfully in a virtual environment, and with the ability to build/develop relationships in a global multi-cultural environment of over 97 countries.
The GSS FTD will lead the identification, development and execution of financial process improvement program initiatives supporting the global strategic objectives of the GSS organization. He/she will hold direct accountability for leading the establishment and achievement of industry and best-in-class benchmark performance metrics (KPIs) in conjunction with functional and Global Shared Services financial leaders across regions. The manager will influence peers and Executives across organizational lines to take action on strategic initiatives or process changes both before implementation of the Shared Service (SS) Centre in their region and in the midst of the SS project for their region. Candidate needs to be willing to travel on a global basis 35-50% of the time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Influence the identification of and direct the development of finance process improvement opportunities and innovative, cost-effective solutions for those opportunities. Lead and mentor the project managers (direct reports and those reporting through matrix relationship) and through them, the initiatives with our customers to drive finance process transformation within GSS and with the regions/national offices for those prior too implementation of the GSS for their country or region. Responsible for influencing the creation, implementation and supporting development of standardised and repeatable best practice finance processes to reduce financial risk, lower costs and enable continuous improvement and operational excellence globally both among the Support Offices (SO) and National Offices (NO). Partner with the global Shared Services Centres, SOs, NOs, and Business Units (BUs0 to effect change, share best practices, leverage processes and automation, training, and employee development. Contributing to the definition, analysis and optimisation of standardised financial processes across business functions, national/regional and global governance offices. Lead formation of/definition and implementation of metrics for financial SSC functions (Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements) Global Shared Service Financial Process Coordination, Facilitation, and work transition Direct and manage the detailed work project plans necessary to ensure delivery in a timely fashion of
identified solutions. Act as the focal point for World Vision management, ensuring effective communication and resolution of key issues and decisions. Oversee the Transition Project Manager who will develop and execute the work transition project transferring work from the sending organisation (SO, NO, etc.) to the Shared Service Centre. Provide effective integration for global reporting to the Global SS Governance of all related Finance Transformation Strategic projects. Manage hiring, development, and operational oversight of a global finance transformation team over the next 12-24 months Provide leadership for the hiring, development of a high performing team, and provide operational oversight of the Finance Transformation resources both those directly reporting to the director and those reporting in a matrix relationship from the SO, NO or Shared Service project team. Provide GSS finance transformation leadership to various on-going projects Provide overall Change Management Leadership, working with the Change Management Manager, and coordinating the additional resources necessary to achieve effective change thus ensuring success of the GSS project and hub. Provide subject management expertise, leadership and advisory services in the finance area for each project. Identify and eliminate roadblocks as they arise, raising them to the Partnership Leader and governance where unable to resolve. Provide leadership of the integration to present and future transformation projects Prepare annual and long range strategic financial plans, in conjunction with the finance roadmap, for the transformation projects. Influence and lead impacted World Vision business units and functions in developing their own financial roadmap and strategic financial plans. Responsible for facilitation of appropriate global, regional and or country meetings. Responsible for developing and publishing a Finance Transformation Communications communique at least
on a quarterly basis. Provide GSS Finance Transformation Program Oversight Accountable to Partnership leader and global ensure delivery assurance, that all finance and shared service finance project deliverables meet or exceed project targets and defined deliverables. Provide leadership accountability and financial oversight related to all projects from a cost and benefit aspect, with monthly updates to the partnership leader and quarterly updates to the global governance. Accountable for active engagement and communication/dialogue with all regional finance directors and key support office financial leaders, so that he/she can pro-actively respond to changing business requirements and environments, managing the finance transformation projects to successful completion in this environment on time and budget. Responsible for identification of additional improvement and transformational opportunities in finance/procurement area, and work towards the development, presentation and successful adoption for funding of the business case for these projects. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: REQUIRED: Bachelors degree from a four year college or university with a major in accounting, finance or related field. MBA preferred, finance related certification a plus (CPA, CMA), 10+ years of practical finance and/or accounting experience, with at least 4-5 years of consulting experience preferred. 5-7 years of leadership experience in the project management and transformation functions or in a similar environment.
