Partnerships TenCate Geo-Synthetics North America Geo-Dredging and Dewatering Solutions Inc. Watersolve LLC
TenCate Geo-Synthetics 400 year old company Fortune 500 company Largest Manufacturer and Distributor of Geo-Textiles in the World
Geo-Dredging & Dewatering Solutions Inc. Geo-Dredging specializes in providing turnkey project management solutions, including dredging, chemical conditioning, dewatering, containment of sludge Geo-Dredging holds a mobile ECA issued by the MOE to perform Geotube dewatering projects
What is Geotextile Container? Geotextile containers offer an efficient on-site, cost effective dewatering option that requires only limited special equipment, typically minimal permitting, and low operations and maintenance cost
What is Geotube Dewatering Technology? Geotube units are constructed of a speciallyengineered polypropylene yarns designed specifically for dewatering High flow rate allows residual materials to dewater rapidly, while containing solids
Containment Dewatering Consolidation
Benefits of Geotube Dewatering Technology Effective high volume containment Efficient dewatering and volume reduction Cost effective Spread project costs over years Handles a variety of materials
Dewatering Applications Municipal Sewage Sludge Pulp and Paper Mill Sludge Mineral Processing Sludge Fly Ash Fine Grained Dredged Material Mining and Drilling Waste Industrial By-Product Waste Agricultural Waste Aquaculture Waste
BioCord Reactors Systems First seen by Don Bishop in Japan 20 years ago New BioCord Working BioCord Seen as a potential solution to increase WWTP or lagoon capacity
BioCord Reactors in Canada Needed to develop a Canadian knowledge base for BioCord Supported by University research Cold weather and lagoons WWTPs often have only primary or secondary treatment BioCord tertiary level treatment NETE Program
BioCord Reactors Renfrew WWTP 2014

Pilot Project: Len and Patty's Butcher Block Partnership with OMAFRA to dewater wash water Wash water had previously been disposed of at the city of Kawartha Lakes STP Due to high BOD and TSS levels, the plant has threatened to no longer accept the material The wash water was also extremely odorous
Preliminary Sludge Evaluation Bishop Water obtained samples for bench testing in order to: evaluate conditioning requirements to maximize dewatering efficiency determine best equipment for use Bench testing determined coagulant and polymer would be required
Pilot Project Methodology As chemically conditioned material was pumped to Geotube units, clear filtrate began flowing from the bag immediately Filtrate produced by dewatering process was captured in basins and pumped back to existing tanks for later disposal
Pilot Project Results Raw wash water is shown on the left in comparison with the filtrate from the Geotube unit pictured on the right
