Assistant Director & Travel Coordinator Application I. MSC FLI s Mission Statement MSC Freshman Leadership International is a freshman organization that presents international outreach and service programs that promote cultural understanding and international awareness among students at Texas A&M University. II. General Information Assistant Director/Travel Coordinator Applications are due on Tuesday, April 11th th by 5 P.M. They may be turned in at the MSC Student Programs Office (SPO) within the MSC at the front desk. Every applicant is required to interview. When your application has been received, you will be contacted to set up an interview time and location. Interviews will be held during the following week. Alternate dates can be arranged if necessary. The dress will be business casual. All details provided on this application may be subject to change. This includes, but is not limited to, mandatory dates of attendance and position responsibilities. III. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Dues: $75 (Due in September/October) Be present, prompt, and participative for all meetings Conduct yourself in a professional and enthusiastic manner when interacting with freshmen Bring an enthusiasm to any MSC FLI associated work, event, or program Execute programs in an efficient and effective manner Relay pertinent information from the Executive Team to freshmen Create agendas for, plan, and run freshmen sub-committee meetings o Relay aforementioned agenda to the Chair and your respective Executive Director Attend Weekly General Committee Meetings (Wednesdays 7:00 8:00 P.M.) Attend Weekly General Staff Meetings (Tuesdays 7:00 8:00 P.M.) o To actively participate in discussion of the status of the committee as a whole and in staff development activities Take part in the freshmen recruitment process Assist in any delegated tasks by the chair, fellow staff, or even freshmen Attend Staff Reveal (TBD) Attend Summer Staff Retreat (Summer, TBD) o To begin and progress on recruitment related activities o To develop necessary leadership and academic skills to deal with the upcoming year of MSC FLI o To be familiarized with the rest of staff Attend Recruitment Retreat (Summer, TBD) o To finalize recruitment, application, and interview processes o To review plans for both the committee and your specific subcommittee in an effort to prepare the organization for its new members Attend Staff Transitions/Last Staff Meeting (TBD) or Staff Workshop (TBD) o Be introduced to the role and basic procedures of your new position o Be introduced to MSC FLI 2021 Attend Freshmen Deliberations to decide on freshmen applicants for MSC FLI 2021

THE APPLICATION Application Checklist All application materials should be turned in together in one manila envelope with your name (first and last), the organization (MSC FLI), and the position sought (Chair/Executive) located on the front. Materials that comprise one complete copy of the application should be paper clipped together. Please make sure the necessary copies of the application are included in your application packet. Print and sign the cover sheet and attach it to the front of your application packet. 2. Applicant Information Page (Provided In This Application Page Five) This page will collect the logistical information pertaining to your application. 3. Resume Provide a resume detailing the experiences you have had which prepare you for the position you are seeking. Be sure to include all university relevant information, significant activities which demonstrate leadership and community involvement, specific duties performed, length in office, and awards or recognitions (should be limited to one page). 4. Goals Statement (3 Page Limit) Please outline at least one goal which you hope to accomplish in your desired position for each of the following areas, listed under the position that is being sought after: Assistant Director 1. One performance appraisal should be completed by a current member of MSC FLI Staff 2021, Texas A&M Faculty, or MSC Advisor. Only two appraisals are necessary. You can file three or more appraisals if you feel as if it would help your application. It is a suggestion to have at least one appraisal from a staff member of your subcommittee and an individual outside of your subcommittee that fulfills the appraiser criteria.
