Course Overview Course Overview This course is designed to give you an overview of the SAP applications for quality management. Examples are used to illustrate the QM functions in the system. This course is a prerequisite for the subsequent detailed courses in the quality management area. The SAP Quality Management applications are part of the SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and SAP PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions. The information in this course refers to the SAP ERP Central Component 6.0 software component, SAP Enhancement Package 5. Unit 1 Navigation - Optional Unit In this unit, you learn how to use the SAP GUI to navigate in SAP systems. It also contains information on personalization and other information that will be useful to you in your work with SAP systems. Unit 2 Basics This unit describes the most important QM functions and explains how these functions can be used in an enterprise. You will also see the basic structure of SAP Quality Management applications and learn about the tasks of each individual area. Unit 3 Overview of QM in the Logistics Supply Chain This unit examines the whole logistics supply chain from a QM perspective and uses examples to illustrate how quality management can be used for certain processes. Unit 4 Quality Management in Procurement This unit explains the tasks of quality management in the procurement process. The unit focuses on QM-specific processes in external procurement, such as vendor release, certificate processing, and inventory management. Examples are used to show the key processes in the system.
