HIT promotes ITS and cooperative systems by: Forming and following an effective strategy for harmonised testing, installation, monitoring, assessment and deployment of cooperative systems through pilot sites. Promoting harmonized specifications for these piloted services, through close cooperation with other EU partners but also US & Japanese counterparts. Collaborating with relevant standardisation bodies, in order to ensure full interoperability of the deployed cooperative solutions and services (e.g. CEN, ETSI WG ITS on M2M, etc.) Disseminating and communicating its activities and resultsto a large audience worldwide.
ITS Infrastructures in Thessaloniki ITS infrastructures implemented in: Ring Road Urban network Central network 1.3 m inhabitants 2 m daily trips 500K vehicles 90 km Ring Road 100K parking places
ITS infrastructures in Thessaloniki Dynamic Traffic Control Intelligent Monitoring and traffic control Real time Info dissemination via VMS, web, SMS Traffic counts and other characteristics monitoring via radar, bluetooth, and i-travel units
The Thessaloniki urban mobility management system Thessaloniki, in the smart cities network of the EU Development of e-infrastructures for «intelligent roads and networks» Integrating environmental protection and urban traffic management E-mobility services for the citizens Real Time data collection and management Data exchange between city stakeholders Sustainability prime concern added value services for citizens and businesses.
Servicers offered through www.mobithess.gr Real time congestion info Parameter sensitive bestrouting for cars taking into account: Distance / time / fuel consumption / pollution Info-point for users Training tool for sustainable mobility Best routing advice for public transport taking into account: Walking distance to stop (3 scales) Park & Ride
THE SEE-ITS THESSALONIKI DEMO Installation of 25 BMS in the context of SEE ITS (58% of all installed devices) Provision of real travel time and traffic conditions information for 37 routes In 150 paths of the wide area of the city travel time is estimated On an average more than 185.000 detection per day Over the day on an average 3.500 detection per 15 min 19
The SEE-ITS PATRAS DEMO Real-time travel time information for central routes of the city provided through internet and a mobile application. Travel times are estimated using the algorithm developed by CERTH-HIT for the estimation of real-time travel times using point-topoint detectors. 8 BMS sensors were installed in selected urban nodes
Thessaloniki Cooperative services for passenger transport (the COMPASS4D project - www.compass4d.eu) Road Hazard Warning Red Light Violation Warning Energy Efficient Intersection 500 vehicles (50 of them are trucks) Larger benefits for heavy vehicles (both in terms of fuel and emissions reduction) Business models based on fleet operators, willing to pay for the services
Cooperative services for freight transport (Project COGISTICS - www.cogistics.eu) Cooperative factor coming from passenger applications Part of the infrastructure implemented by passenger transport oriented projects Environmental applications similar to passenger transport
The COGISTICS Cooperative services for freight Implemented in Thessaloniki CO2 footprint estimation and monitoring Provided around the port area of Thessaloniki 4G Fleet of 10 trucks Eco-drive support & speed advise Provided around the port area of Thessaloniki and the city centre 4G & DSRC G5 Fleet of 10 trucks Proof of delivery Provided around the port area of Thessaloniki and the city centre 4G Fleet of 10 trucks 100 intelligent cargo units
