Shipping Estimator Description Shipping Estimator is designed to allow customers select shipping methods right on the product page. Shipping costs are automatically added to the product price and a customer will see the total cost of his order without leaving the page. Once selected for a specific customer, the shipping method will be applied to all other items in the store and to the products in his/her Cart. 3
Configure Shipping Estimator The module configuration is quick and easy which makes it convenient for use. To configure the extension, go to the System Configuration backend page and navigate to the Shipping Estimator tab. In this tab, there are two option fields: General and Method Icons. General 1) Display on Frontend: Choose the place where the shipping option will be displayed. Display in the Standard Place: the shipping option will be integrated into the standard place on product pages. 4
Display in the Custom Place: the option allows inserting the option into any page area (see the instruction). Hide: if necessary, the shipping option can be hidden on the frontend. 2) Display Icons: Select Yes to show icons next to the shipping methods labels on the frontend. How to Integrate the Shipping Option into a Custom Place To insert the option into a custom place, open the catalog/product/view.phtml file in the folder of your current theme. Insert the following code into the necessary place: <?php echo $this->getchildhtml('shipestimator');?> For example, the option will be inserted after a short description. Note: don t forget to select the Display in the Custom Place option on the module configuration page. 5
When you save the settings, the option will be integrated into the custom place on the frontend. 6
Method Icons In this field set, you can specify icons for each shipping method which you have in your store. The icons will be displayed on the frontend if the Display Icon option is enabled in the General field. Note: if required, you can upload icons for all shipping methods you have. But only the methods, which are enabled on the System Configuration Shipping Methods page, will be displayed on the frontend. To insert an icon, click the Choose File button and upload the necessary image. After all the settings are done and icons are uploaded, click the button. 7
The Frontend View After the module enabling, the shipping method option will appear on every product page. After clicking the option, a pop-up window appears on the screen. A customer should fill out all the fields in the pop-up window and click the Get Quote button. 8
After it, several variants of shipping methods will be displayed at the window bottom. A customer should select any method and click the Apply button. 9
The shipping cost will be added to the product price. A customer will see the total amount of the order right on the product page. The chosen shipping method will automatically be applied to all other store items and orders added to the Cart. If necessary, a customer can select another delivery method at any time. A product in the shopping Cart: Note: after choosing the shipping method on a product page, it will be applied to customer s Shopping Cart. A customer will not need to select a shipping method anymore. 11
Uninstall Shipping Estimator To delete Shipping Estimator, remove all the extension files. Then you need to clear the cache. Note: don t forget to make a backup of your store and disable compilation before any deletion or installation. 12
