LIVE STORAGE RACKS: Nothing gets old SLP live storage racks are designed for the storage of EURO pallets, special pallets and cage pallets. They are the solution of choice when large quantities of the same type of palletized goods have to be stored and the pallets have to be retrieved in exactly the same sequence as they were stored. The pallets are stored in several rows one behind the other and on several storage levels. They are placed in the racks by low or high lift pallet trucks. The inclined roller tracks in the racks allow the pallets to automatically travel from the storage to the retrieval position. The FiFo principle (First in First out) guarantees that all items are retrieved in the same sequence as they were stored. Nothing gets old. Live storage racks are ideally suited for production processes in which it is essential that each lot is precisely trackable and shelf life requirements are reliably met, as in the food industry, for example. Live storage racks also serve as buffer stores in industrial production. High flexibility The system, which consists of modularly designed, easily combinable uprights, roller tracks and other accessories, can be flexibly and optimally adjusted to meet the needs of the stored products and the local conditions. The variable welding position of the claw allows the inclination of the roller tracks to be individually adjusted to the weight of the pallets. Unparalleled stability In live storage racks, the upright frames and load beams must be able to cope with very high dynamic loads. Therefore, SLP live storage racks are made of cold-formed structural upright columns and head crossbeams, which provide maximum load carrying capacities and torsion resistance while requiring a minimum of material. This means highest stability while saving on valuable resources. The columns and crossbeams are made of up to 3-mmthick cold-formed higher-strength steel coil up to grade S 420. The unique V-type holes in the upright columns in combination with the inclined engaging surfaces of the hangers guarantee safest transmission of forces from the crossbeams into the columns with an exceptionally high fixed-end moment. 2

SLP offers a wide range of gravity roller tracks designed for very long service lives. In the racks, pallet travel is exclusively by gravity, no other energy is required. Brake rollers control the speed. The pallets on the tracks are decelerated by friction braking before they reach the final stop. This ensures smooth stopping of the stored material at the end of the line. High working and operating safety As well as great stability, SLP live storage racks provide a very high standard of safety, as they are fitted with a comprehensive range of protective devices. Automatic separators guarantee that the pallets can be retrieved safely without any pressure from behind. While the pallet at the end is being retrieved, the following pallets are held back by the separator. Only when that pallet has been completely removed from the rack will the next one be released. At the retrieval positions, hot-rolled steel angles of very sturdy design are fitted as stops. They also serve as a protection of the rollers at the end of the tracks against mechanical damage by the forklift forks. Easy assembly The roller tracks are directly bolted to the uprights. Bolting of the brackets is easy and convenient as our standard uprights come with precisely placed and sized holes. The bolts can be fixed with standard tools. 3
How to plan your perfect rack solution: For storage on EURO or industrial pallets Section A-A Top view Live storage racks for pallets can hardly ever be bought off the shelf because more often than not they must be tailored to the specific needs of the stored goods, the intralogistics at the customer s site and the building situation in general. We plan the racks in close cooperation with our customers. Before we can start planning your rack solution, we need some information: Stored goods Type of goods, pallet size and weight, type of packaging. We design the racks for weights of transferred goods ranging from 80 kg to 1,500 kg. Building situation Floor size, room height, transfer routes Transport vehicles Handling equipment Types of forklift trucks Environmental condition Temperature and humidity. For deep freeze handling in the food industry, special low-temperature rollers are available. Based on this information we will design the aisle width, select the roller tracks and arrange the guide rails and other protection devices. We also calculate the optimal inclination of the roller tracks and select the most suitable rollers. Last but not least, we will custom-design the braking system according to the specified size and weight of the pallets. As a rule of thumb, the travelling speed should be between 0.1 and 0.2 m/s depending on the pallet weight. 4
