BCCSAP Thematic Review 100% Thematic Analysis BCCTF Approvals 90% 80% 70% 60% 50% 40% 30% 20% 10% Theme 6 Theme 5 Theme 4 Theme 3 Theme 2 Theme 1 Theme 1 - Food security, social protection and health Theme 2 Comprehensive disaster management Theme 3 - Infrastructure Theme 4 - Research and knowledge management Theme 5 - Mitigation and low carbon development Theme 6 - Capacity building and institutional 0% 1 All three mechanisms address all themes. Some evidence of specialisation. Case for strengthening focus of each mechanism?

Success under BCCTF Projects 15.4 kilometres of coastal sea dyke have been constructed. 6760 cyclone resilient houses have been erected. 142 kilometres of embankments have been built. 122 kilometres of river bank protective work have been completed. 535 kilometres of canals have been excavated/reexcavated. 44 water control infrastructures including regulators/sluice gates have been constructed. 11

Challenges Fund shortage and Inadequate facilities for further capacity development Insufficient baseline scenario due to lack of research and data bank 12

Way Forward Need Financial support Government s own Trust Fund and Donor s Resilience Fund Need effective utilization of resources To establish itself as a hub of knowledge management and research on climate change in Bangladesh 13
